The Opus Magnum represents the concluding side quest for Miller Kreyzl in the expansive world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, unfolding during the main quest titled Wedding Crashers. This quest offers players an engaging journey filled with intrigue and skill enhancement.
The adventure commences with the initial task, Materia Prima. Kreyzl instructs you to pilfer a letter from a secure chest located in Troskowitz. This endeavor not only propels the storyline forward but is also a golden opportunity for players keen on honing their Thievery skills.
Upon successfully stealing the letter, you discover that Kreyzl is endeavoring to animate a Golem; for this, he requires a rare material known as saltpetre (or nitre). This revelation paves the way for the next quest in line: Forbidden Fruit.
After gathering various animal carcasses for the gravedigger and finally locating the saltpetre pit, Kreyzl reveals that he is still unprepared to commence the Golem’s creation. His next proposition involves stealing a clandestine book from Trosky. However, this task necessitates the involvement of a lady to execute his plans effectively.
If you’re unsure where to find a suitable maiden, or if you are struggling to acquire a fitting dress and perfume for her, fear not! Below is a comprehensive walkthrough for the Opus Magnum quest to guide you through every step.
How to Initiate the Opus Magnum Quest

Begin your quest by engaging with Miller Kreyzl. After discussing the location of the saltpetre pit, Kreyzl regales you with his philosophical musings on returning to his roots and utilizing saltpetre to create primordial matter.
Curious, Henry seeks clarification, leading to further instructions. Kreyzl requests an alchemical cookbook from Scribe Erazim. However, to retrieve this book, you must first locate a woman capable of distracting Chamberlain Ulrich long enough for you to infiltrate the castle.
Your next step involves visiting the Zhelejov Baths and consulting with Dorothy to find an appropriate candidate. You’ll also need to procure mintha perfume and a red dress to complete her disguise.
Finding a Companion for Chamberlain Ulrich
Fast travel to the Zhelejov Baths and strike up a conversation with Dorothy. Inform her that Kreyzl requires a lady to impersonate a noblewoman. Dorothy will facilitate your request by summoning several girls, but none will measure up to the task.
Fortunately, Dorothy will recommend a nomadic girl. A new compass marker, labeled D, will guide you southwest to Enneleyn.
Upon finding Enneleyn, present her the opportunity Kreyzl has, explaining her role in ‘acquainting’ the chamberlain. Make sure to explore all dialogue options, and offer to procure her the red dress and perfume necessary for the masquerade. Additionally, you might consider presenting her with a bottle of wine to enhance your standing with her.
Acquiring a Dress for Enneleyn

Next, head over to Troskowitz and seek out Tailor Bartoshek. Feel free to haggle for a better price on the dress.
For a stealthier approach, wait for the tailor to turn his back, then sneak behind the counter to lift the dress unnoticed. Be sure to save your game beforehand, allowing you to restart if you are caught. If necessary, you may also take down the tailor if he turns around during your theft.
Before leaving, consider purchasing wedding attire for yourself, especially pieces that enhance your charisma to 16 or above.
Obtaining Mintha Perfume

There are three methods to obtain mintha perfume. You can purchase it from Innkeeper Betty, pickpocket her at night while she sleeps, or brew it yourself.
If your Thievery skills are up to par, pilfering from Betty may be the simplest solution.
If you decide to craft the perfume, gather the following ingredients:
- Dandelions x3
- Marigold x1
Here’s how to concoct the perfume:
- Utilize the alchemy table and start with wine as the base.
- Add 3 handfuls of dandelions and 1 handful of mint to your mortar, grind the combination, and transfer the powder into the cauldron.
- Lower the cauldron to simmer the mixture for 2 turns.
- Next, elevate the cauldron, add 1 marigold, and lower it again.
- Allow the concoction to boil for an additional turn.
- Finally, acquire a phial and distill the mixture.
The fragrance doesn’t need to be perfect; even a weaker mixture suffices for the quest’s requirements.
Attending the Wedding with Enneleyn
For players aiming to tackle all side quests, it’s advisable to complete the Blacksmith’s questline before proceeding, which includes The Blacksmith’s Son, The Jaunt, and The Hermit, as they occur prior to the wedding. Some segments of Opus Magnum unfold during the wedding itself, while others transpire afterward.
Once equipped with your charisma-boosting attire, return to Enneleyn at the nomad camp with the dress and perfume in hand. Allow her time to dress, and together, you may proceed.
This side quest will temporarily halt until you progress through the main quests, Wedding Crashers and For Whom the Bells Tolls.
Upon completing those quests, you’ll gain access to the castle during the Back in the Saddle quest, enabling you to resume your efforts in Opus Magnum.
Locating the Scribe and the Alchemical Cookbook

Proceed to the area where you bribed the guard with meat during the For Whom the Bells Tolls mission and follow the quest marker K upstairs to find the Scribe.
Engage with Scribe Erazim and express your desire to borrow an alchemy book. He will inquire about your interest, and you should reply with, “There are some interesting ideas in it.” Unfortunately, he’ll inform you that Lord Nikvard has the book and has yet to return it.
After completing your dialogue with him, he will suggest seeking clues from various characters: Bertha the Cook, Regina the Maid, and Hersh the Hand.
Investigating Lord Nikvard’s Whereabouts
Start your inquiries with Cook Bertha, who reveals she hasn’t seen Nikvard since the last medicinal brew she prepared for him. She may waver in divulging more details, but you can either persuade her with a bribe or pass a skill check to extract the information, ultimately revealing he must be in the privy by the training grounds beneath the guardhouse.
Next, approach Regina the Maid who will request you read a message from Nikvard. After deciphering its vague contents, she will indicate she last saw him in the Knight’s hall.
Lastly, consult with Hersh the Hand. He may view you with skepticism, believing you are spying. To allay his fears, retrieve a sword for him, which can be found at the combat training ground.
Once you return with the sword, he’ll explain that Nikvard wanted him to fetch something from outside the castle, but before divulging further, he notices Nikvard’s sudden absence.
Acquiring the Lightbringer’s Secret Book
You will need to progress through the Back in the Saddle main quest until you can exit Trosky before you can retrieve the book.
Return to the Scribe and inform him of your findings regarding Nikvard.Select the option “The book fell into the privy.” Follow the provided compass marker to locate Nikvard.
Upon discovery, you’ll find the book lying on the ground. Retrieve it, and your next task will be to return the book to Kreyzl.
Completing Opus Magnum and Securing the Secret Ending
This quest intriguingly features two distinct endings. To achieve the standard conclusion, simply return to Miller Kreyzl and present him with the book. He will then arrange for you to meet him at the Lair to unveil what has transpired in the pursuit of creating a Golem.
For the alternative ending, however, you must first report your findings to Bailiff Thrush before presenting the book to Kreyzl. Discuss your observations with the Bailiff, who will prompt you to gather additional evidence regarding Kreyzl’s undertakings.
After witnessing the events at the Lair, return to the Bailiff and recount everything you discovered. He will then instruct you to lead a group of men back to confront the miller.
This path culminates with Kreyzl, Bonnie, and Zinek facing execution.
