Ultimate GTA 5 Strategy Guide for Success

Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) is an expansive game that may require weeks or even months to fully complete. Launched in 2013, it remains one of Rockstar Games’ most ambitious titles and continues to rank among the most-played games after more than a decade. However, many players usually finish only the main storyline.

If you’re among the dedicated players aiming for 100% completion, this comprehensive GTA 5 strategy guide will provide an outline of the game’s various activities from beginning to end. Keep in mind that the journey will not be simple; it involves participating in a series of lengthy and sometimes monotonous tasks. Yet, achieving 100% completion in a monumental game like Grand Theft Auto 5 is a reward worth pursuing.

While the gameplay in Grand Theft Auto 5 is extensive, you don’t need to finish every single task to achieve 100% completion. Many activities can be partially done to count toward your overall progress. Rockstar Games has categorized the journey into five main categories:

  • Story Missions (55%)
  • Strangers & Freaks Missions (10%)
  • Hobbies and Pastimes (10%)
  • Random Events (5%)
  • Miscellaneous Activities (20%)

This GTA 5 strategy guide will focus on these specific activities to help you reach 100% completion as quickly as possible. You can expect to encounter many hidden surprises throughout your journey, such as discovering new vehicles and meeting intriguing characters. Only the most dedicated players will uncover all of these exciting features.

To check your current game progress, you can use either of the following methods:

The In-Game Method

  1. Open the pause menu by pressing the designated button on your gaming platform.
  2. Navigate to the Stats tab within the pause menu.
  3. Scroll to the 100% Checklist to monitor your current progress.

If you’re not logged into the game, you can still check your statistics on the Rockstar Social Club. This website provides a detailed overview of your accomplishments and tasks yet to be completed. Follow these steps for that:

  1. Visit the official Rockstar Games website (https://www.rockstargames.com).
  2. Click on the Games tab and select Grand Theft Auto 5.
  3. Click on the Story tab and select Stats.
  4. This will direct you to the Career Overview page, where you can view various detailed statistics related to both story mode characters and your online profile.

Rockstar Games has included 69 missions in Grand Theft Auto 5. Completing all of these is necessary to work toward the 100% completion goal, including the Prologue, main story missions, and Lester’s Assassination Missions. Importantly, you don’t need to complete all of Lester’s missions for the main storyline; the GTA 5 strategy guide recommends completing only the first mission (The Hotel Assassination) and save the rest for later.

The Lester’s Assassination missions closely tie into the in-game stock market system. You can use them to generate substantial in-game profits through trading. If you’re interested, refer to the GTA 5 Stock Market Guide for detailed insights into this economic feature.

The Prologue and main story missions should be tackled sequentially. Upon reaching the final mission, you’ll be presented with three choices:
