UFC 5 update: 34 new fighters coming by June, EA Sports unveils massive roster expansion
EA Sports revealed that UFC 5 will have a significant increase in its roster with a newly announced expansion.
The fifth installment of the MMA video game series was launched in the latter part of last year. While the title has generally received favorable reviews, there were some complaints from fans upon its release that the roster did not include many new names.
Despite the presence of fighters like Sean O’Malley and Jon Jones, the game was lacking in a significant number of relevant fighters across multiple weight classes. Fortunately, the team at EA Sports has put in the effort to fully expand and improve the video game.
Today, the development team for UFC 5 announced a significant roster update. In a social media post, they disclosed that 34 additional fighters will be joining the game in the near future.
The upcoming additions to the game’s roster will feature top fighters like Kayla Harrison in the women’s bantamweight division, newly signed welterweight Michael Page, and middleweight contender Chris Curtis. Fans can also look forward to long-time contenders like Drew Dober, Serghei Spivac, and Geoff Neal finally being included in the game.
It should be mentioned that the majority of the newly added fighters are either preparing to compete or have recently competed. This includes Benoit Saint-Denis, who recently suffered a loss to Dustin Poirier, and Virna Jandiroba, who is coming off a victory over Loopy Goodinez. UFC 301 main event fighter Steve Erceg has also been included in this update.
