Originally located in the harsh terrains of Alaska, Project Maverick aimed to challenge players with survival mechanics against not only environmental threats but also competitive players and NPCs until their extraction. Development for this project is now spearheaded by Ubisoft Montreal, in collaboration with Ubisoft Sherbrooke, as they embark on creating the game anew.
Workforce Reallocation
Reports indicate that many team members from the Project Maverick initiative have been reassigned to focus on the upcoming Far Cry 7 (codenamed Project Blackbird).Meanwhile, a group of approximately 50 developers appears to be awaiting new project assignments amid these transitions.
