Ubisoft’s Appearances at Summer Game Fest 2025: New Releases and Reveals
While Ubisoft did not hold its traditional Ubisoft Forward presentation during Summer Game Fest 2025, the company managed to steal the spotlight with notable announcements across various events throughout the weekend. Among these were key release dates and the introduction of a brand-new game, enticing fans of the gaming giant.
New Release Dates Unveiled
One of the significant updates came with the announcement of Anno 117: Pax Romana, set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on November 13, 2025. This eagerly awaited title continues the rich legacy of the Anno series and promises an engaging experience for strategy enthusiasts.
Updates on The Rogue Prince of Persia
In addition, Ubisoft provided exciting news regarding The Rogue Prince of Persia, a 2D platforming adventure from Evil Empire that has been in early access since last year. Although an exact release date for the full version is yet to be confirmed, a window for its 1.0 update was announced to be targeting August 2025. This update is highly anticipated as fans are curious to witness how the game has progressed since its early access debut, which laid a solid foundation.
Introduction of Morbid Metal
Perhaps the most intriguing reveal was the announcement of Morbid Metal, published by Ubisoft and developed by Screen Juice. This hack-and-slash roguelite game features semi-procedurally generated levels set in a dystopian future. Additionally, there was silence on major updates for Rainbow Six Siege X, which is set to launch imminently, and no information about the future of Far Cry or the much-discussed Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake.
With a lack of a dedicated Ubisoft Forward event in 2025, it’s increasingly unlikely that fans will hear any updates on these major franchises for the remainder of the year. Future announcements may occur through third-party events like Gamescom ONL or The Game Awards. Currently, Ubisoft is navigating substantial internal changes, which could account for the limited showcase of new titles. However, the muted announcements for 2025 raise concerns following a letdown of a year in 2024.
