However, two of the most dominant cards in the game currently aren’t even Pokemon — they are powerful Supporter cards, Misty and Cyrus.
While iconic staples like Darkrai Ex and Magnezone boast a strong stall strategy, or the fierce offensive potential of Charizard Ex paired with Moltres Ex demonstrate significant raw power, the introduction of Misty and Cyrus has reshaped competitive dynamics. Many decks now adapt around the dominance of Ex cards, with some focusing minimal attention on Pokemon, as exemplified by combinations featuring just a couple of critters—like Articuno Ex partnered with Pachirisu Ex—while allocating the rest of the deck to Supporter and Item cards. This strategic approach is viable primarily due to the robustness of Misty and Cyrus.
