Valve is seeking user feedback for redesigning the Steam Store Menu and Search

Valve Innovates with New Steam Client Update

Valve is actively refining its Steam client and online store by rolling out continuous updates aimed at modernizing the user experience. The latest iteration has entered the beta phase, unveiling a complete overhaul of the navigation menu situated above its store pages, as well as enhancements to the search functionality.

Revamped Menu and Navigation

The redesigned interface merges the left sidebar with the blue bar that users typically see on the Steam store. This updated menu will now be accessible across nearly every page, providing users with seamless navigation. Notably, this bar will retract upon scrolling down, but will promptly reappear when users scroll up, ensuring quick accessibility at all times.

Personalized Browsing Experience

The new layout organizes previously scattered options like Browse, Recommendations, Categories, and Tags into distinct sections, enhancing user navigation. Each section features dedicated destinations with customized links tailored to individual users based on their game libraries and play history.

Enhanced Search Functionality

In addition to the menu overhaul, a new Enhanced Search Panel has been introduced. This update includes categories such as Popular Searches and Recently Viewed, along with enhanced search capabilities for categories, tags, publishers, and more. An Advanced Search link is also available for users looking to apply more specific filters while exploring the store’s offerings.
