Heartopia is an immersive life simulation game that features a dynamic weather system capable of producing a variety of meteorological phenomena. The primary weather types are divided into three main categories: sunny days, rainy days (which can also include snow), and the elusive rainbow days. Among these, players may also experience the rare occurrence of meteor showers, which add a unique touch to the gameplay.
As a distinctive nighttime event, meteor showers in Heartopia are not simply a mirror image of rainbow days; they operate on an independent schedule unrelated to the daytime weather patterns. Therefore, if you want to witness these celestial events, planning ahead is essential.
Upcoming Meteor Showers in Heartopia
The first meteor shower following Heartopia’s global launch took place on January 24th, prominently announced via XD’s social media platforms. Moving forward, meteor showers are expected to recur periodically, albeit less frequently than rainbows, and may not receive the same level of promotion in the future. To ensure you don’t miss an upcoming meteor shower, follow these steps:
Access the “watch”feature found in the game menu, where you’ll find the current weather displayed adjacent to the time. By clicking on the weather icon, you can access the weather forecast application, which details the anticipated weather conditions for the next seven days.
The weather forecast will break down the following 24 hours, highlighting transitions across Heartopia’s four different times of day. Additionally, a summary icon will indicate the dominant weather conditions for the subsequent six days. From the image provided, you can see that the next meteor shower is predicted for Friday.
Timing Details for Meteor Showers
Meteor showers are active from 6 PM to 12 AM server time. Keep in mind that this schedule relates to the in-game “Evening”time, which may not correspond directly to your local time zone. For instance, players in the UK participating on the global server need to log in between 5 PM and 11 PM GMT to join in on the excitement.
Activities During Meteor Showers
Meteor showers not only serve as a visually stunning backdrop but also offer players access to a rare resource known as Starfall Shards.
During a meteor shower, players can mine Starfall Shards, which are formed when meteors land in Heartopia. These shards resemble mining nodes for ore or Flawless Flourite and come in a spectrum of colors, including white, yellow, purple, and blue (the blue ones may look similar to everyday Flourite nodes). You can find the mining nodes for Starfall Shards exclusively in the Onsen Mountain area of the map.
Interestingly, players have reported being able to discover and mine a Starfall Shard node even before an official meteor shower began, potentially indicating a glitch in the game mechanics.
While Starfall Shards cannot be directly utilized in crafting, players can interact with a special NPC named Doris at the Doris’s Meteor Shower Fortune Store. Here, you can exchange your Starfall Shards for an array of celestial-themed furniture items, including attractive star-themed crystal décor such as a complete bathroom set and various illuminating fixtures.
Doris also facilitates trades of different-colored Starfall Shards on a one-to-one basis, ensuring you’ll have the colors you desire. It’s important to collect as many Starfall Shards as possible since they do not respawn until the next meteor shower, making your gathering efforts during these events vital.
