Nioh 3 offers an extensive selection of weapons, specifically designed for players who favor either Samurai or Ninja styles. Within these categories, each weapon type boasts unique passive skills and varied randomly assigned abilities, empowering players to tailor their character builds according to their play style.
Among the array of available weapons are the coveted Crucible weapons, known for their exceptional capabilities. Although they are rare during regular gameplay, players can employ specific strategies to efficiently farm them in the early stages of the game.
To become a true Master of Weapons, understanding how to farm Crucible Weapons and the benefits of doing so is essential for maximizing the combat effectiveness of Takechiyo.
How to Farm Crucible Weapons

Farming for Crucible Weapons in Nioh 3 is straightforward. These unique weapons can be identified by a red skull icon in the menu and are typically obtained as loot drops from enemies within Crucibles and Lesser Crucibles. However, accessing these can be tricky, as Lesser Crucibles cannot be replayed during your initial playthrough. The only reliable method to use them for farming entails intentionally failing against the final enemy, which is a less efficient method due to the time spent between runs.
The introduction of Battle Scrolls changes the game significantly, allowing players to replay story missions, including those set in Crucibles, at will. This leads to the most effective farming opportunity: the first Crucible mission.
To efficiently farm Crucible Weapons, follow these steps:

- Access the Crucible Manifested mission via the Battle Scrolls menu at the Shrine.
- Progress through the mission until reaching the second Bodhisattva Statue (Clan Estate), located just past an Ippon-Datara yokai. Interact with the statue to activate the checkpoint.
- Engage and defeat the Ippon-Datara; this enemy holds a chance to drop Crucible Weapons.
- Because you’re near the Bodhisattva Statue checkpoint, you can quickly respawn the Ippon-Datara after praying. This tactic allows for rapid consecutive battles, thus improving your farming efficiency despite the lower drop rate of Crucible Weapons.
Why Farm Crucible Weapons?

While farming Crucible Weapons isn’t a prerequisite to winning battles in Nioh 3, these weapons are crucial for unlocking every weapon type’s skill tree, as certain Martial Arts can only be learned by achieving proficiency with Crucible Weapons.
Even if you’ve advanced past the Crucible Manifested mission, you can still gain significant advantages by farming these weapons. Although the initial power levels of the weapons may be lower compared to other gear, you can enhance their strength through Soul Matching at the Blacksmith located in the Eternal Rift.
If you find yourself with excess weapons, you have several options. You can disassemble them for valuable crafting materials or use Soul Extraction to obtain Soul Ores required for upgrading other gear through Soul Match.
This concludes our guide for aspiring Masters of Weapons, aimed at deepening your understanding of Nioh 3’s intricate weapon mechanics.
