Metroid Prime 4: Beyond presents players with a captivating alien landscape known as Viewros, filled with secrets that require various abilities to unlock. One intriguing capability you will acquire early is the deployment of small concussive bombs while in Morph Ball form, enhancing your gameplay options.
This ability, referred to as Psychic Bombs, becomes available shortly after you attain the Control Beam. To earn this skill, players must navigate an ancient temple nestled in the Fury Green region and conquer the final boss within. This guide outlines the steps to obtain this ability and provides insights about the temple’s intriguing features.
Cross the Infinity Bridge & Enter the Temple

After aiding the Federation Engineer, Myles MacKenzie, travel through Fury Green until you encounter a majestic bridge extending over a lush jungle. This bridge may have captured your attention during your wanderings in Viewros, but upon locating the entrance, your journey becomes straightforward.
However, do not be lulled into complacency while crossing the bridge. Expect to face multiple waves of Jungle Grievers that will emerge to challenge you. Though Myles may not contribute much, Samus is well-equipped to handle these adversaries.
Navigate Through the Fury Green Temple

Upon entering the temple, you will gain the Control Beam ability, which enables Samus to fire a manipulable beam that slows time. This tool is essential for navigating the various puzzles within the temple and beyond.

Utilize your Psychic Glove and Control Beam abilities to open sealed doors until you reach the Base Camp. Upon arrival, Myles will express interest in the Lamorn Control System, and you’ll also encounter some locked doors. To progress, head through the eastern exit to discover a save room.
After saving, interact with the console to trigger a brief cutscene where Myles delves deeper into the technology, enabling him to partially unlock the door leading further into the temple.

Although the unlocking mechanism on this side of the room is malfunctioning, you can shoot a Control Beam through a gap in the wall to activate it from the opposite side. Proceed through the doors until you reach a Morph Ball entrance, navigating the narrow tunnel until you emerge on the other side.
You will then find yourself in a chamber with two statues beside a central access node. Make sure to scan one of the statues to trigger a cinematic that provides valuable insights into the Green Energy Crystals scattered throughout the game.
Collecting Green Energy Crystals is crucial, so gather them whenever possible to alleviate potential grind later in the game.

In the expansive Ceremonial Chamber, you’ll encounter a raised pressure plate overlooking a small pond. Standing on this plate will activate three nodes around the water’s edge. Use your Control Beam to strike each node, which will open the room on the opposite side.
The left chamber, known as the Sanctum of the Guardians, merits a visit after defeating the temple’s boss for extra lore regarding the boss and its thematic context.
Continue into the next room, employing your Psychic Glove ability, and advance through another door to face off against the temple’s boss: Carnax.
Defeat Carvex to Unlock Psychic Bombs

Upon entering the boss chamber, you will be greeted by a cutscene showcasing the formidable flora boss, Carvex. To defeat this foe, strategically use your Control Beam to repeatedly dismantle its tendrils.

After a victorious battle against Carvex, you will acquire the Psychic Bombs power-up, enabling you to deploy up to three Morph Ball bombs simultaneously. These bombs can unlock new pathways and hidden secrets, in addition to providing an extra bounce while in Morph Ball form.
To exit the chamber, use your newly acquired ability to navigate through a tight passage, clearing any debris with a Psychic Bomb along the way.
As you progress through the Morph Ball tunnel, continue to destroy obstacles and make your way back to the Ceremonial Chamber. Subsequently, retrace your steps to the Base Camp.
During your journey, keep an eye out in the next Morph Ball segment labeled Broken Hall for a weak point to demolish with your Psychic Bombs, as it hides a valuable missile upgrade.
Finally, return to Myles MacKenzie at Base Camp, ready to learn the next objectives in your adventure through Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
