A recent update from NVIDIA has addressed significant performance concerns affecting gamers in the latest installment of the Resident Evil series. The new driver aims to enhance gameplay experiences by resolving issues introduced in earlier versions.
NVIDIA’s Game Ready Driver 595.71 Resolves Performance Challenges
The NVIDIA Game Ready Driver version 591.86, released at the end of January, inadvertently introduced performance setbacks for players of Resident Evil Requiem, particularly impacting users with GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards. Many gamers took to social platforms to express their frustrations, citing substantial frame rate drops and even instances of game crashes.
While NVIDIA attempted to rectify these issues with the subsequent release of Game Ready Driver 595.59, this update proved problematic, introducing various bugs, including black screen occurrences and system freezes, particularly for RTX 50 card users. In response, NVIDIA promptly withdrew this version and launched Driver 595.71, which, according to Sean Pelletier, NVIDIA’s Director of Game Ready Technology, has effectively resolved these concerns, promising improved performance for players.

Despite the assurances, some gamers expressed uncertainty about whether the performance degradation issues had truly been addressed, as the release notes did not explicitly mention performance fixes for Resident Evil Requiem. However, Pelletier clarified that an Over-The-Air (OTA) profile update was included in the Game Ready Driver 595.71, effectively targeting the performance concerns.

For users who are still not noticing improvements, NVIDIA advises a system reboot following the installation of the new driver to ensure optimal performance.
