Microsoft Teams continues to be the leading platform for online communication and collaboration, consistently rolling out innovative features. Recently, the company shared a comprehensive update on the enhancements made to Teams throughout November 2025. This timing aligns with Microsoft’s Ignite conference, where new functionalities are often introduced.
Among the standout features is the AI assistant, which now showcases enhanced capabilities including analysis of chat histories, meeting transcripts, and calendar data. In an exciting development, the Teams Mode for Copilot is in public preview, allowing users to invite colleagues into private chats where AI can actively contribute, making it a collaborative tool that assists with various tasks.

Additionally, Teams users can now generate status report updates using the Channel Agent. This feature has been refined for external collaboration, offering functionalities such as chatting with anyone, sharing files or Loop components, labeling through trust indicators, and utilizing admin presets. A particularly useful feature enables users to open ‘core functionalities’—including calendar, chats, and calls—in their own separate windows. Moreover, forwarded links can be accessed directly, provided the user has appropriate permissions.
For many Teams customers, the new search bar in the settings is a welcome enhancement. There are also improved collaborative Pages and Notes available directly within the application, plus the ability to incorporate emojis into section names for added personalization.
From a platform perspective, the Channel Agent’s connectivity has expanded, now integrating with platforms like Asana, GitHub, and Atlassian. IT administrators benefit from increased visibility regarding privilege levels and compliance-related information concerning apps and AI agents. Notably, AI agents and bots can now make use of Microsoft Entra for secure authentication, along with additional features aimed at enhancing the administrative experience, such as trust-based filters for apps, a new performance audit tool for Teams Mobile, and broader analytics support for AI agents within the Developer Portal.

Turning to meetings, webinars, and town halls, Teams has introduced customizable meeting recap templates that allow for structured, AI-generated notes. Users can also look forward to branded reactions (currently in private preview), a streamlined screen sharing experience for Mac users, enhanced features for Facilitator Agent, and immersive 3D events within Teams.
Moreover, Microsoft has increased the number of Teams-certified devices to improve user experiences, including:
- Yealink MP66W Wi-Fi based Teams device
- MAXHUB XBar W70
