Apple’s Design Direction: No Changes for iPhone 17e and Base iPad

A recent update suggests that the much-anticipated Apple iPhone 17e may not include the Dynamic Island feature as previously speculated. According to a report from MacOtakara, Apple plans to keep the existing design elements for both the iPhone 17e and the standard iPad.

The report indicates that the iPhone 17e will stick with the familiar notch, forgoing the latest design innovations such as the Dynamic Island. However, it will be equipped with the powerful A19 chip, which is also the driving force behind the standard iPhone 17.

In addition to the A19 chip, the new budget iPhone model is expected to feature advanced components including the TrueDepth Face ID module, the C1X modem for enhanced connectivity, and the N1 wireless chip.

While earlier rumors hinted at a 60Hz-refresh-rate, 6.1-inch LTPS OLED display with Dynamic Island, the updated report refutes these claims. Additionally, it was suggested that the device might support magnetic wireless charging, a 12MP front-facing camera, and a robust 48MP rear camera, although the inclusion of the N1 wireless chip may be under reconsideration.

On a related note, the base iPad is also set to retain its current design. However, it will benefit from performance upgrades, receiving the A18 chip and an increase to 8GB of RAM. This will enhance its capabilities while maintaining the existing look.

According to another report, Apple may reveal the iPhone 17e on February 19, providing a short wait for consumers eager to see if these predictions hold true.
