Game director Koshi Nakanishi guided viewers through the distinctive gameplay styles available when controlling the characters Grace and Leon.

Expectations vs. Reality

While excitement was high, the showcase did not fully meet fan expectations. Speculation surrounding the mention of “games”led many to believe there would be new announcements regarding titles like Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil Village coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The contrasting gameplay styles of Leon and Grace offer a compelling player experience. Leon can approach challenges with a direct, action-oriented style, utilizing an arsenal of weapons and combat maneuvers. In contrast, Grace must adopt stealth tactics, creatively using resources at her disposal. Crafting plays a significant role in her gameplay; defeating zombies allows her to extract blood samples for the creation of Specialized Injectors—potent tools that can even cause undead opponents to explode.

The showcase also highlighted collaborative efforts by Capcom, including a partnership with Porsche, which has resulted in a themed car for Leon. Additionally, watchmakers Hamilton will produce two limited-edition watches inspired by Leon and Grace, each featuring only 1, 000 pieces available for purchase on the game’s release date, February 27, 2026.

Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will be available on GeForce NOW upon release, with support for NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 featuring Multi-Frame Generation.
