While playing instruments may not officially feature in the seven hobbies of Heartopia, it offers players an entertaining way to pass the time while they wait for tasks to refresh or hang out with friends. From playing instruments freely to utilizing music scores for specific songs, there’s plenty of fun to be had.
If you’re eager to dive into the musical side of the game but haven’t unlocked any music scores yet, there’s no need to fret. This guide will walk you through unlocking music scores and locating various instruments within Heartopia.
How to Unlock Music Scores in Heartopia
Completing the New Song to Summon the Astralis Quest

To start collecting music scores in Heartopia, you first need to complete the Astralis in Flower Field quest, where you’ll receive your initial instrument—a Lute—from Vernie. This achievement unlocks the Instrument and Music Score section within the Daily Life Guide.
To access this section, open your smartwatch and click on the Town Guide app. If the Instrument and Music Score section isn’t visible, scroll to the middle of the app. Select it, and then hit the accept button located at the bottom right corner.
Once you select this option, you’ll receive a call from Ka Ching, marking the start of the New Song to Summon the Astralis quest. Although she will provide a list of numbers that resemble music scores, feel free to play as much or as little as you wish to progress through the quest. Ultimately, you will meet Annie, who will gift you seven music scores, including:
- Love Marriage
- Wedding March
- For Elise
- Pachelbel’s Canon
- Happy Birthday
- Edelweiss
- Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
Do not forget to mark the quest as complete in the Daily Life Guide to earn the Heartopian Melody score as well.
Utilizing Music Scores in Heartopia
Each music score comes with distinct attributes, including difficulty, number of pages, keys, and recommended instruments. To see the suggested instruments for a score, click the small circle with a lute next to the score details. After choosing a score, press the play music button to return to the score interface.
The music score will then display at the top of your screen. As you play through the notes, make sure to press the arrow button to turn the page after completing each section.
Be attentive to any small circles or two circles above score notes; these indicate whether the notes are high or low, despite sharing the same numerical values.
Acquiring Instruments in Heartopia
Instruments are obtainable from Annie or, on some occasions, from the Collector. Additionally, there are three free instruments players can earn:
- The Lute is received from Vernie during the Astralis in the Flower Field quest.
- A Recorder is gifted by Eric at the conclusion of the Astralis in Onsen Mountain quest.
- A Piano serves as a gift on Day 3 of the 7-Day Sign-In Event.
Annie’s Music Store is the most convenient, albeit costly, way to purchase a variety of instruments. To visit the store, locate Annie in the plaza, converse with her, choose the store option, and then select Music Store.
She offers a selection of 14 instruments, priced between 3, 800 Gold to 195, 000 Gold:

Occasionally, players can also acquire instruments from the Gilded Acorn Exhibition’s gachas. These instruments are visually superior to regular ones, appealing to musical enthusiasts. However, they are among the most challenging to obtain, often requiring Exhibition Passes instead of gold.
