Finding Tortoises

Tortoises populate the coastlines of the Howling Sands. Typically located among palm trees and sandy shores, these creatures can be difficult to spot as they often retract into their shells, appearing as green masses from a distance. Fortunately, Tortoises are not aggressive, allowing for a safe farming experience while seeking Sturdy Chitin.

Spotting Armadillos

Armadillos are prevalent throughout the Howling Sands region, particularly in the red sand zones and atop elevated terrains. Their light-brown scales help them blend in with the sandy desert landscapes, making them somewhat elusive. Like Tortoises, Armadillos do not pose a threat to players, allowing for easy collection of their drops.

Encountering Scorpions

Scorpions inhabit all desert biomes, including beaches, ruins, and dunes. With their dark scales and distinctive white mask, these creatures also exhibit a blue glow on their pincers and stingers. Scorpions are aggressive and can inflict poison damage, but they mostly act alone, making them manageable targets for prepared players. Defeating them will also yield Venom Sacs as additional loot.

Exploring Scarak Enemies

Scarak creatures are found near Scarak nests dotted throughout the Howling Sands. These nests, often located at fossil sites characterized by their dark red sands and exposed large animal bones, manifest as towering pillars of mud, concealing a complex of tunnels beneath the surface, where various Scarak foes await.
