Netflix’s recent release, Trouble, is a Swedish action-comedy directed by Jon Holmberg. The film features Filip Berg as the lead character Conny, Amy Deasismont as Diana, and Eva Mealnder as Helena, among a talented ensemble cast.
Trouble begins with the wrongful arrest of Conny, who finds himself in jail after being framed for the murder of a customer’s husband. The official synopsis states:
“Wrongfully convicted of murder, a clumsy electronics salesman faces police corruption and criminal conspiracies in an attempt to prove his innocence.”
By the conclusion of Trouble (2024), Conny successfully connects the hotel’s video intercom to a TV and reveals to everyone that Detective Helena is the actual murderer, thus proving his innocence and escaping from prison.
How Does Conny Get Arrested in Trouble (2024)?

In Trouble, Conny is portrayed as a divorced aspiring pilot working at an electronics store, who has a young daughter named Julia. He strives to provide more for Julia, even planning to buy her a horse for her birthday. To do this, he agrees to take on additional tasks at work. One evening, just as he is getting ready to leave, his boss informs him that he needs to set up a TV at a customer’s residence.
Before heading to the installation, Conny encounters Diana, a detective who is there to purchase new headphones. After a brief conversation with Diana, Conny goes to the customer’s home for the TV installation. Being a gadget enthusiast, he decides to test the TV’s new features while the homeowner briefly steps out.

As he prepares to leave, Conny notices a man lying semi-conscious on the floor, searching for his cell phone. To protect himself, he picks up a nearby screwdriver, fearing that someone might have assaulted the man and could target him next.
Moments later, Conny is knocked out from behind. Upon regaining consciousness, he finds the homeowner has returned and discovers him with a blood-stained screwdriver, leading her to believe he has killed her husband. She promptly calls the police, resulting in Conny’s arrest.
Conny Meets Diana Again
Conny encounters Diana again, this time in the interrogation room, where he realizes she is a detective. He is subsequently introduced to Detective Helena Malm and Jorma Heikkonen. Conny also meets his assigned lawyer, Hasse, who intervenes in the interrogation. A few weeks post-arrest, the trial occurs, and Conny is sentenced to prison for the alleged murder.
Conny maintains his innocence and files an appeal, which is denied by his lawyer. Determined to vindicate himself, Conny resolves to find the phone that the victim referenced.
The Cell Phone is Found

Conny manages to sneak out of prison temporarily to speak with the victim’s wife. He instructs her to find the phone, after which he returns to prison. Eventually, the victim’s wife locates the phone hidden behind a ceiling light, though it is out of charge.
After charging the phone, she discovers footage indicating that her husband was involved in a significant drug deal. The video captures a female dealer, and the wife realizes that her husband was recording her, leading to his likely pursuit and murder.
Concurrently, Detective Helena Malm arrives at the victim’s home to inquire about the missing phone.
While Detective Helena sits with her back to the TV playing the same footage, the victim’s wife begins to tremble, recognizing that Helena is the true murderer, not Conny. However, Helena fails to notice the video due to her position.
Upon learning about the video that could exonerate him, Conny attempts to retrieve the phone. However, after a chaotic incident at the airport, he is shot and arrested again, ending up in the hospital. Malm covertly takes and discards the phone.
Diana Comes to Conny’s Aid
While in the hospital, Helena Malm attempts to poison Conny, but Diana intervenes, believing in his innocence. In the ensuing confrontation, Helena wounds herself with Diana’s weapon, trying to frame her for the attack. Nonetheless, Diana cleverly escapes with Conny.
After their escape, Conny and Diana seek proof to expose that Helena is the real killer. They return to the victim’s house and locate the incriminating video on the TV’s hard drive. However, they cannot transfer or capture it, so they take the entire TV to Conny’s lawyer, Hasse, for assistance.
Upon arriving, they discover Hasse in collusion with Helena Malm, who is involved in a drug deal. Conny realizes that his lawyer is working with the murderer.
The End for Helena in Trouble (2024)
In the film’s climax, Conny and Diana follow Hasse and Helena to a hotel while bringing the TV with them. Conny witnesses Helena and his lawyer engaged in drug transactions, prompting him to call the police on himself, hoping they’ll arrest him and also apprehend Helena. Forewarned of this plan, Helena tries to thwart it to protect her drug trade.
The police arrive and arrest Diana amid a brief shootout, also damaging the TV that contains essential evidence. Despite the setbacks, Conny persists and takes the broken TV to the hotel control room, connects it to the intercom video system, and plays the footage proving Helena’s guilt.
As Helena descends in the lift, the other officers spot the video on a small screen, leading them to realize Helena is the perpetrator, confirming both Diana’s and Conny’s claims. Helena is subsequently arrested, and Conny and Diana are exonerated.
In the film’s closing moments, Conny fulfills his promise to buy his daughter a horse, then shares a moment with Diana, just as a couple of bothersome neighbors interrupt their anticipated kiss.
