Trippie Redd Raises Concerns Over Online Leaks of His Last 4 Albums

Trippie Redd Raises Concerns Over Online Leaks of His Last 4 Albums

In recent hours, Trippie Redd has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to voice his frustrations over the continual leaking of his music, which he believes undermines his album releases.

The last full-length solo album from Trippie, titled Saint Michael V2, was made available on streaming platforms in November 2023. Following that, he collaborated with MGK on an EP named genre: sadboy and launched multiple singles, including his latest track with KSI called Thick Of It.

Trippie expressed his discontent about music leaks after a supposed “fan account”shared a brief, one-and-a-half-minute clip of an unreleased track featuring Justin Bieber.

In his tweets, the rapper shared his annoyance, suggesting that the incessant leaking could jeopardize future collaborations, including potential projects with artists like Justin Bieber.

“If I don’t get another song with Bieber yall fault wtf”- Trippie commented.

Redd went on to remember the challenges he faced during the launches of his “last four albums,”mentioning that complete albums have been leaked online a week before their official debuts.

Trippie Redd’s tweets generated a varied response from users, with many offering their perspectives on the issue of music leaks. Some users accused the rapper of lacking an adequate system to protect his music from hackers.

“Still don’t get the point of leaking, that sh*t gotta be hella discouraging to artists ’cause it’s like every time you create something, someone else just takes it and puts it out before so it kinda makes it hard for you to even do anything with it”- one user empathized with Trippie Redd.

“Stop storing your sh*t on the cloud then lol the fact that it took you 4 albums to realize that”- another user remarked.

“It’s that simple. All the artists have to do is store it on a hard drive offline and don’t send it to ANYONE. The moment it makes its way to the cloud, you’re basically inviting a leak. The fact huge artists don’t do this is crazy. Also, only doing features in person helps.”- another commenter added.

“Use an HDD instead of the cloud. Cloud emails are easy targets for hackers.”- one user suggested.

Fans in the comments brought up issues regarding the rapper’s release schedules. Many expressed that Trippie’s choices to delay and cancel singles that were previously teased contribute to the leaks of his music.

“The album sh*t is not cool at all but why care when songs you’ll never release leak like you’re not doing anything with them”- a fan pointed out.

“Yes, but some of the leaks are your best music, so I’m glad they get leaked because you don’t drop them.”- another fan stated.

“Honestly, Trippie, there are songs we’ve been begging for, for years. When you learn to drop as consistently as we need and stop ignoring our requests for certain tracks, perhaps the leaking will cease.”- a fan voiced their concern.

Trippie Redd and KSI Talk About Their New Viral Track ‘Thick Of It’

Nearly two weeks ago, KSI released his first single in more than two years titled Thick Of It, featuring a verse from Trippie Redd. The track has since become a sensation on social media, particularly on TikTok, where many users have been playfully critiquing the new song.

This track became available on digital streaming platforms on October 03, 2024, and was accompanied by an official music video directed by KC Locke. Since then, Thick Of It has amassed over 10 million streams on Spotify and more than 21 million views on YouTube.

“The trend is to hate me right now – I’m getting clowned left, right, and center – TikTok’s been going wild, X… but it is what it is. It’s been a whirlwind, man, but we survive another day!”- KSI reflected on the backlash against Thick Of It.

The duo was approached by reporters from Official Charts magazine for an interview to delve deeper into their hit single. This conversation featured delightful behind-the-scenes anecdotes, with KSI discussing Drake’s Instagram repost of the song and Trippie revealing that he has penned “200 songs”.

Trippie shared that his motivation to collaborate with KSI on Thick Of It stemmed from the song’s vibe, which he felt resonated with the music from around the 2016-17 period. He also noted similarities between their latest collaboration and the works of artists such as XXXTENTACION and Juice WRLD.

“The vibe definitely [reminds me of] that 2016/2017 era; the music I, Juice WRLD, and XXXTENTACION were creating. It feels like that pocket, it made me happy that someone is still producing this kind of sound. It’s fire; that sh*t was tough.”- Trippie Redd expressed.

With the anticipation for new music at an all-time high, Trippie Redd has sparked excitement amongst fans by revealing that he has written over 200 songs in the last “four months.”Following the leak of his collaboration with Justin Bieber and the viral success of Thick Of It, fans are eagerly awaiting his next release.
