Traveling Between Maps in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – A Complete Guide

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features an expansive world divided into two sizable maps: one focused around Trosky Castle and the other encompassing the historic city of Kuttenberg. Notably, while the map associated with Trosky is slightly less extensive than that of the original game, Kuttenberg offers a more significant area for exploration.

Access to the Kuttenberg region is granted midway through the game’s storyline, encouraging players to delve into the rich markets and vast terrain of Kuttenberg. However, players may find themselves needing to return to Trosky, whether to complete side quests or indulge in hunting pursuits. This necessitates understanding the mechanics of regional transitions in KCD2.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - Transportation Between Regions

The distance between Trosky and Kuttenberg is roughly 50 miles, making this journey substantial. From a role-playing perspective, it is illogical to frequently traverse these regions for trivial tasks.

Players wishing to undertake the journey should locate a coachman, whose services are vital for traveling between Trosky and Kuttenberg. These coachmen are identifiable on the map by their respective red caravan icon—but they only become accessible after Henry has first reached Kuttenberg during the main storyline.

To initiate travel, simply approach a coachman, typically found near a campsite, and request a ride. Engaging with the coachman also triggers a game save.

  • Traveling to another region costs 200 Groschen, a fixed price that cannot be negotiated.
  • Coachmen operate exclusively during the day, requiring players to wait at night.
  • The journey typically spans about 4 in-game days, potentially leading to the expiration of some time-sensitive side quests.

Upon departure, players will witness the loading of the new map as Henry arrives in the back of a cart at the new location.

Keep in mind that during certain main quests with specific time constraints—such as meetings set for early morning—traveling between regions will be prohibited.

To return to Trosky from Kuttenberg, players should follow the road west of Suchdol, found in the western section of the Kuttenberg region.

Traveling along this route will eventually lead to a clearing with a campsite, where the coachman resides. This will also result in Henry appearing in the southeast area of the Trosky map, just east of Schdiar.

Conversely, to return to Kuttenberg from Trosky, players should navigate to the southeast section of the Trosky map. Here, the coachman awaits near a farm, situated just south of the midpoint between Troskowitz and Apollonia, and east of the Schdiar fast-travel point. The red caravan icon should already be visible on the map.

Look for a campsite along the road during the day, where the coachman can typically be found sitting, recalling the spot where Henry was initially dropped off during previous travels.
