Locating Tracktail Lizards in Monster Hunter Wilds

During our exploration of Area 13 within the Plains, we stumbled upon two pairs of Tracktail Lizards, particularly near the entrance/exit leading to Area 16 (to the north of Area 13).However, be cautious, as these agile creatures will quickly flee if you approach too closely.

To effectively catch the Tracktail Lizards, approach them from behind and crouch before deploying your capture net. You don’t have to get extremely close, and remember that only one Tracktail Lizard needs to be captured. If necessary, you can let the other one escape.

Equip your Capture Net from the Item Bar and position your aim. When ready, use the left trigger/right stick to aim and then press the right trigger to launch. The trapped creature will be transferred to the Expedition Command Camp. Importantly, you can utilize the Capture Net multiple times.

Researcher’s Notes on Tracktail Lizards

  • Tracktail Lizards are endemic to the Windward Plains, particularly in its desert regions. Their distinctive tails enable them to sit upright, either to survey their environment or to shield themselves from the sun’s heat. When they sit, their tails leave impressions in the sand that resemble large monster tracks. Typically, these creatures travel in pairs to keep each other safe, especially when drinking water.
