As of now, Civilization 7 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 dominate the Steam marketplace, both achieving remarkable sales through pre-orders alone. Interestingly, three out of the five games currently topping Steam’s sales charts have gained traction solely based on early orders.
The announcement of Civilization 7 came in June 2024, followed by an opening for pre-orders two months later. On the other hand, pre-orders for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 began in January 2025, nearly nine months after its official announcement.
These two titles have evidently created significant buzz and commercial enthusiasm on Steam. As of February 2, 2025, Civilization 7 leads the premium segment of the Top Sellers list on Valve’s platform. It remarkably outshines all upcoming titles in spending, lagging only behind the free-to-play giant, Counter-Strike 2. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 follows closely behind on both the paid and overall charts.

Warhorse Studios’ highly anticipated RPG may have the potential to outpace Civilization 7 in sales on February 3, coinciding with the start of its preload phase on Steam. The official release is set for February 4, just one week ahead of Civilization 7, which will follow suit on February 11. Preload options for Civilization 7 will be available on various platforms from at least February 5, in anticipation of its early access on February 6. Players wanting to experience the game sooner can opt for the Digital Deluxe or Founders Editions, priced at $99 and $119.99 respectively. Currently, a preload option for the PC version of Civilization 7 has not been confirmed.
At present, Monster Hunter Wilds secures the fourth position among Steam’s paid Top Sellers, primarily due to robust pre-order sales. This title is scheduled for release at the end of the month.
February 2025: A Packed Lineup of Game Releases
February 2025 is brimming with significant game releases, showcasing highly anticipated titles such as Avowed and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza, which will launch on the 18th and 28th respectively. Other noteworthy upcoming releases within the month include Rift of the NecroDancer, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2, and Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered. Additionally, Lost Records: Bloom and Rage (Tape 1) are set to debut on February 18 and 28 respectively.
