In the immersive world of Avowed, players are greeted with a plethora of weapons and armor, each with unique capabilities. As you explore, you’ll discover unique pieces of equipment enriched with special perks designed to help you forge the character you envision.
The game’s starting zone, Dawnshore, is filled with valuable unique items that can accompany you throughout your journey. If you’re seeking powerful gear to enhance your experience during the gripping narrative of Avowed, take a look at these exceptional items.
Arcanist’s Boots

Located almost immediately upon arrival in Dawnshore, the Arcanist’s Boots can be found by navigating towards a distant lighthouse from the pier. Ascend the lighthouse to uncover a chest with this extraordinary piece of armor.
The Arcanist’s Boots grant a 5% enhancement to health restoration effects and a notable 10% increase in movement speed, making them ideal for swift maneuvers in battle.
Boots of the Bricklayer

Engineered for nimble fighters, the Boots of the Bricklayer enhance your Dodge Distance and offer increased Carry Capacity. If your strategy leans more towards avoiding damage than health restoration, this footwear is an excellent fit.
To acquire these boots, venture to the Pargrun Cache ruins. Ascend to a courtyard area teeming with skeletons, where you will find a destructible wall that conceals a chest containing this valuable gear.
Unflinching Duty Shield

This prominent shield is hard to miss as it becomes available after defeating the Dreamthrall Bear, an early-game boss. It offers a 10% chance to completely avoid incoming damage and provides a valuable boost of 30 points to your Max Stamina.
Last Light of Day Sword and Delver’s Caution Ring

Players can claim this impressive fiery sword upon concluding the Dawntreader sidequest, initiated by venturing into the Eothasian Temple dungeon in Pilgrim’s Path. After defeating Sargamis, the Eothasian Godlike, you can loot the sword from his remains.
Notably, the Last Light of Day is pre-upgraded and provides a 3% health restoration with each enemy defeat while dealing additional fire damage. You can further enhance it with enchantments at your camp to unlock even greater passive effects.
Upon arriving in Paradis, engage with Caedmon (or Ofryc) near the Aedyrian Embassy to receive the Delver’s Caution ring, which provides +1 Dexterity and boosts Parkour Speed by 15%.
Paradis Bounty Board Rewards

In Paradis, you’ll encounter a bounty board featuring five unique targets, each guarding a special item:
Target | Unique Item | Effects |
---|---|---|
Noble | Steel Garrote’s Plate Armor (found on a corpse within the cave) |
|
Tempestuous Luandi | Caeroc’s Pride Pistol |
|
Ralga | Seven Strivings Great Axe (located on a nearby corpse) |
|
The Yellowband | Arcanist’s Gambeson (available in a chest nearby) |
|
octave | Sheathed in Summer Dagger |
|
By accepting the bounties, you’re provided with markers that indicate the precise locations of your targets. While looting these items without accepting the bounties is possible, obtaining them enhances the overall experience and rewards.
Ring of Slow Essence

Post-acquisition of the Steel Garrote Plate Armor, exit the Ruinous Cavern to uncover a section of Paradis’ outer wall. Locate the statue depicted above and interact with it to unveil a hidden wall leading to a chest containing the Ring of Slow Essence.
This ring offers a gradual Essence regeneration, enabling you to cast spells more liberally during combat without being dependent on potions. While modest on its own, it synergizes beautifully with other Essence regeneration effects for enhanced ability.
Alternatively, you can reach this area by scaling the scaffolding found below the cliff.
Anextli’s Grimoire

This special spellbook lowers the costs and cooldowns of your abilities while providing access to spells like Fan of Flames, Arcane Veil, Grimoire Snap, and Missile Salvo. To utilize the latter two, you need to invest points into the Grimoire Mastery skill. You will find this grimoire hidden within a skeleton to the north of the pier in Ivona’s Threshold.
Anextli’s Grimoire is particularly beneficial for melee players, as it significantly heightens survivability with Arcane Veil. This grimoire eliminates the need to spend a skill point on Arcane Veil, and if you already possess the spell, having it equipped upgrades Arcane Veil to a higher tier. Grimoire Snap serves as an effective crowd control spell, while Missile Salvo can be advantageous for tackling ranged adversaries or delivering burst damage.
