In the realm of video games, narratives often revolve around a single hero or a group of heroes racing toward a common objective. However, not all stories adhere to this formula. In certain instances, a character recognized as a protagonist in one narrative may simultaneously serve as an antagonist in another.
Many titles grant players the chance to step into the shoes of not only the main character but also the villain, embarking on adventures that offer a unique perspective of the conflict.
This duality can unfold in various ways: heroes may temporarily ally with their traditional foes to combat a greater evil, or villains may pursue their own agendas independent of the heroes. Players can find themselves either momentarily assuming control of a villain to execute a thrilling maneuver, or discovering that they have commanded an antagonist throughout their gameplay. Here are some standout games that allow players to explore both sides of the narrative.
