In the realm of Monster Hunter Wilds, the Dual Blades reign as the swiftest and most agile melee weapon class. While these lethal blades may lack in reach, they excel in multiple facets, making them ideal for inflicting status ailments and unleashing elemental damage upon foes. Players can even sever tails when the opportunity arises!
Currently, the Dual Blades have a favorable standing within Wilds. However, some variations of these blades stand out significantly from the rest. If you’re keen on discovering the best options available, we’ve curated a list of must-have Dual Blades to aim for.
As with our previous rankings for Greatswords, many of the most powerful Dual Blades can be found at the conclusion of their respective skill tree lines, so be prepared for potential spoilers in our countdown.
8 Lala Harapactirs
The Bug Blades

One of the most exciting recommendations I can make includes the distinct Lala Barina, which wields a pair of exceptional Dual Blades known as the Lala Harapactirs. While they might not boast high raw damage, their formidable 15% Affinity stat and generous amount of White sharpness undoubtedly compensate for that shortcoming. For newcomers unfamiliar with damage calculations in Monster Hunter, it’s important to note that Affinity refers to critical hit chance. Moreover, White sharpness represents the highest level of sharpness available in Wilds, enhancing damage output.
With a significant 150 Paralysis, these blades grant players the ability to immobilize monsters for additional damage. The Lala Harapactirs also benefit from skills like Critical Draw and Critical Status. While I would prefer to see a more impactful skill than Critical Draw, these blades remain reliable choices for any encounter.
7 Hope Daggers
Low Investment and Top Tier

Many players will be delighted to discover that the Esperanza Daggers, one of the easiest Dual Blades to craft, remain viable throughout the entirety of the game.
These blades represent the pinnacle of the Expedition Tree, featuring impressive stats and minimal monster part requirements for crafting. Surprisingly, low-investment weapons like these often come with noticeable drawbacks, but that’s not the case here.
The Esperanza Daggers deliver reasonable damage, possess ample White sharpness, and have a neutral Affinity. While it would be beneficial to have a higher Affinity, its overall neutrality isn’t a cause for concern. Notably, these blades include two points in the Critical Eye Equipment Skill, granting some critical chance to increase your damage during key moments.
Despite the existence of superior Dual Blades, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any that are as easy to craft as the Esperanza Daggers.
6 hunger claws
The Dragon Killer

Your next solid option comes from the fierce Gore Magala, as the Hungerklauen Dual Blades present some impressive features.
These blades deliver robust performance across various metrics, showcasing strength in elemental combat, particularly with a striking 150 Dragon Damage. The weapon also features a commendable 20% boosted Affinity, accompanied by generous amounts of White sharpness.
Moreover, Hungerklauen comes equipped with a fully maxed-out Critical Element stat, enhancing elemental damage during critical hits, providing further customization pathways using Decorations and Talismans.
5 Fulgartwins Guardiana
Basically, Thor With Blades

If you prefer the idea of Hungerklauen but would like a version focused on Thunder damage, the Fulgartwins Guardiana Dual Blades are an excellent choice.
These blades excel in Thunder damage, featuring a commendable 15% Affinity along with a maxed-out Critical Element, ensuring your elemental strikes hit with devastating force. With an Attack stat of 294, they hold their own, even though they possess Blue sharpness, which slightly reduces their high-end damage.
Even with the absence of White sharpness, the Fulgartwins Guardiana are worth testing. Their stunning design adds to their allure, making the effort of defeating the Fulgar Anjanath for them particularly rewarding.
4 Ajara-Panthaka
The Closest You Can Get to Gunblades

The formidable Ajarakan, a new character in Wilds, offers an exhilarating challenge for players battling this fierce fire monkey.
Fittingly, the Ajara-Panthaka Dual Blades incorporate the Blast element that periodically detonates, delivering added damage to adversaries. With a solid 10% Affinity and a respectable Attack of 294, these daggers can compete among the top-tier options in the game.
The blades provide ample White sharpness and come with a fully maxed-out Power Prolonger. Although I would prefer another Equipment Skill, this skill increases your blades’ powered-up time, making it a respectable bonus.
3 Inspired Ywain
You’re The Boss Now

The experience of battling Arkveld, also known as The White Wraith, stands as a constant threat throughout the story of Wilds.
It’s only fitting that the Inspired Ywain Dual Blades possess remarkable qualities. With an impressive Attack stat of 308 and a strong emphasis on Dragon Element (200 damage), these blades stand out against some of the game’s most formidable monsters.
Interestingly, Inspired Ywain features a complete stack of Focus, an Equipment Skill that enhances gauge fill rates and shortens charge times by 15%.While generally associated with Greatswords, this skill can still prove useful, complemented by decent Decoration slots for customization.
2 Final Battleaxes
Gypceros Strikes Again

Fighting the Gypceros can be an engaging experience in Monster Hunter Wilds, offering a unique and entertaining challenge. If you’re looking for a reason to take on this ‘murder chicken’, consider hunting down parts for the Final Battleaxes.
Before we delve into the merits, it’s crucial to note that the Final Battleaxes are one of the few Dual Blades on our list lacking White Sharpness, which may impact damage potential. However, the 322 Attack stat compensates for this dilemma, paired with neutral affinity.
These blades also yield 200 Poison damage, allowing players to apply poison effortlessly due to their rapid attack speed. Moreover, they come equipped with a maxed-out Power Prolonger right from the start. Though not the most groundbreaking, the benefits definitely outweigh the drawbacks with these charismatic blades.
1 Wyvern Lovers
Tough Love

The impressive Wyvern Lovers, crafted from Rathalos parts, are essential for anyone in need of potent fire weaponry.
These blades come with a plethora of advantages, including a valuable amount of White sharpness that reduces the need for frequent sharpening. Their fire element is a great asset, but the true highlight lies in their crit rate.
The Wyvern Lovers feature a 10% Affinity boost and also include three points in the Critical Boost Equipment Skill, which significantly enhances the effectiveness of critical strikes by 34%.While their base damage may not rival some other Dual Blades in this ranking, their critical rate, overall damage potential, and crisp sharpness make them worthy of your attention.
