The latest update, Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.28 beta and preview, has been released, introducing a range of improvements and modifications aimed at enhancing gameplay. This update places a strong emphasis on refining features associated with the Pale Garden biome and altering the functionalities of various blocks. Additionally, it includes adjustments geared towards achieving parity with the Java edition of the game.
Top 5 Enhancements in Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50.28 Beta and Preview
1) Enhanced Block Functionality
This beta version brings significant enhancements to block behaviors. Importantly, trial spawners linked to spawn eggs will no longer reset to an empty state once their cooldown period ends. Furthermore, players can now enjoy optimized performance on low-end devices, as mangrove leaves now feature a specific texture when fancy leaves are disabled.
In this update, Nether and Resin blocks have been visually refined to match the alignment of other brick blocks horizontally. Other adjustments include a softer footstep sound for moss blocks and the fact that decorated pots will no longer trigger observer blocks upon world load.
2) Modifications to the Pale Garden Biome
Significant alterations have been made to the Pale Garden biome. Players will notice that the horizon takes on a darker hue during rainy weather within this biome. The inclusion of eyeblossoms has also been enhanced, as sculk sensors can now detect the opening and closing of these flowers.
Another noteworthy change is in the poison effect linked to eyeblossoms. Bees now suffer damage if they come into contact with these blocks, altering their interactions within the biome.
3) Improvements in Mob Interactions
The behavior of various mobs has also been fine-tuned. One key enhancement is that the creaking sound will no longer pass through blocks when players observe from a distance. Additionally, ravagers can now demolish all types of leaf blocks, increasing their destructive capabilities.
Other mob-related changes include a modification in bee behavior. They can no longer be attracted to closed eyeblossoms, marking a significant interaction change with the new floral addition to the Pale Garden. When fed open eyeblossoms, bees are inflicted with poison; whereas wither roses will impose a wither effect on them.
4) Revamped User Interface
Significant user interface updates have been introduced in this version, aimed at improving user experience. For instance, the tooltip for items in bundles now features a gray background, and it correctly appears after items are placed from the cursor.
Touch controls have been enhanced, resolving an issue where the camera would become immobilized after exiting a boat. Gamepad tooltips have also been updated to display correctly when hovering over the crafting output in both the inventory and crafting table screens.
As an exciting feature, players can now share and display in-game screenshots on their profiles, enabling them to customize their world thumbnails.
5) Enhancements for Vanilla Parity
This beta version places a significant focus on vanilla parity, which refers to ensuring consistency in feature behavior between the Bedrock and Java editions. Notably, knocking out a wolf, silverfish, or bee will no longer agitate other nearby mobs of the same type. Similarly, defeating a zombified piglin will not provoke other nearby zombified piglins.
Additional adjustments include modulating the ambient sounds produced by eyeblossoms, the creaking heart, and the Pale hanging moss to create a more immersive audio experience.
