In the captivating world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players encounter a remarkable array of characters. From random NPCs challenging you to duels, to pivotal figures who shape the narrative, the character landscape is both varied and engaging.
What truly kept me immersed in this game was the exceptional writing that brought these characters to life. Each one either finds a special place in your heart or inspires a desire to confront their bohemian personas the moment they appear on screen.
I’ve lost track of how many times I wandered away from the main quest, exploring the bustling streets of Kuttnerberg. During these adventures, I frequently stumbled upon seemingly ordinary NPCs who opened the door to enjoyable quests and dialogues rich in lore.
10 Vauquelin Brabant
Good With Words

Your journey with the intriguing Frenchman, Vauquelin Brabant, begins during the “Taking French Leave” main quest. He aids in your efforts to rescue the notorious Lord Capon from Maleshov Castle and plays a crucial role in the unfolding story.
A true adventurer at heart, Brabant is an opportunist who relishes sharing tales of his escapades, brimming with confidence and a flair for storytelling.
Having Brabant around ensures there’s never a shortage of dramatic anecdotes, such as his legendary escape from John Hawkwood and his mercenaries. True or not, there’s no denying that he is one of the most entertaining characters in the game.
9 Mutt
Good Boy Mutt

You can acquire the loyal canine companion known as Mutt after completing the “Mutt” side quest. From then on, he becomes a steadfast ally at Henry’s side, embodying the traits of a true knight beneath his furry exterior.
Mutt has accompanied Henry since the early events of Skalitz, though his role was less pronounced in the first game. I regrettably completed my initial playthrough of Kingdom Come: Deliverance without realizing I could have had Mutt’s loyal companionship.
In the second installment, however, I ensured that Mutt was by my side. His unwavering support proved invaluable in a world full of treachery and violence, creating a sense of security during tumultuous moments.
8 Adder
Fight

Introducing Adder, a Polish mercenary affiliated with the notorious Devils Pack led by the enigmatic Dry Devil. You first encounter him when attempting to reunite the scattered members of this notorious group.
What becomes clear after interacting with Adder is that he’s a bit of a lunatic, with a penchant for causing chaos while basking in his own audacity.
His antics are accompanied by humorous dialogue, making him a delightfully chaotic character who knows just when to crack a joke or escalate a situation.
7 Istvan Toth
Take Your Revenge, If You Can

Istvan Toth, the main antagonist from the previous installment, reappears as a significant foe in this sequel. This Hungarian spy serves King Sigismund, actively diminishing the influence of dissenting nobles in Bohemia.
His cunning nature often allows him to slip out of danger, as he isn’t above switching allegiances to avoid confronting a true knight in battle.
Each confrontation between Henry and Istvan unfolds like a thrilling dance of strategy and taunts, ultimately leading to a duel that feels epic and deserving of a bard’s recounting.
6 Hynek or Kunstat
The Dry Devil

Hynek of Kunstat, known as the Dry Devil, is a noble turned ruthless assassin. You first encounter him during the “Speak Of The Devil” main quest when you come to his rescue from the clutches of Hungarian executioners.
A true maniac, Hynek suggests absurd solutions, such as resorting to cannibalism when hunger strikes, and has a track record of burning villages to gain the upper hand over his foes.
Despite his disturbing tendencies, I found a certain admiration for this deranged character; his wild plans and unpredictable actions add a thrilling dimension to the story.
5 Markvart Van Aulitz
I Remember Everyone

Markvart Van Aulitz stands as the commander of the Prague army and serves as a crucial catalyst for Henry’s odyssey, having tragically caused the death of Henry’s parents in the first game.
While often seen as a villain, Markvart and Henry share many similarities, both noble knights striving to lead their factions to victory.
What amplifies his role is the climactic confrontation with Henry, during which he offers profound insights that challenge players’ perceptions of him. The depth of his character elevates the antagonist experience significantly.
4 Hans Capon
Fortune favors the bold.

Hans Capon of Perkstein is a noble tasked with delivering a critical message, yet he often finds himself embroiled in mischief. His ability to navigate trouble is almost remarkable.
As Henry’s closest companion, they face numerous challenges together, from scrounging for coins on the streets of Trosky to defending Suchdol Castle. While Hans may stray from his responsibilities, his bravery on the battlefield is admirable.
Listening to his outrageous tales was always a delight; having him as a steadfast ally was consistently reassuring.
3 Eat Zizka
Brave and Bold

Jan Zizka is a member of the Devil’s Pack, collaborating with mercenaries to challenge the noble forces supporting King Sigismund. Players first meet Zizka during the “Back in the Saddle” main quest at Nebakov Castle.
Engaging with NPCs during this quest could unveil vital information, hinting at his underlying motives. Regardless, Zizka emerges as a pivotal force against Sigismund’s troops, characterized by a lion-hearted bravery that has folks rallying behind him.
His role adds immense depth to the narrative, and without his leadership, the conflict against the Hungarian king may have ended catastrophically.
2 Henry
I Am Quite Hungry

Henry, the protagonist of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is tasked with protecting his patron, Sir Hans Capon. However, safeguarding a noble is merely a facet of his complex narrative. Whether dueling with knights for honor or assisting the herbalist Bozhena, Henry’s story is richly woven with choice.
For those daring enough, leading him down a darker path may involve chaotic escapades in the town of Semine or turning disgruntled allies in for profit. Ultimately, however, it is Henry’s commitment to those who stand with him that defines his true honor.
The journey Henry embarks on is not only captivating but resonates deeply. Rising from humble beginnings to noble status, he maintains his inherent humility and loyalty.
1 Godwin
Man Proposes, But God Disposes

Godwin serves as the second playable character, abandoning his noble lineage to spread religious teachings. Despite this, he indulges in a lifestyle filled with vice, favoring revelry over piety.
Once a mere comic relief in the previous title, Godwin’s development into a character who bravely confronts bandits to save Henry highlights the complexity of his persona.
Often, I found myself wishing to control Godwin more than Henry, captivated by his carefree approach to life. In a realm dominated by noble warriors, the impact of an old, inebriated priest willing to fight for his friends is surprisingly profound.
