The cast of *Avengers: Doomsday* has a diverse and unexpected lineup, sparking excitement among Marvel enthusiasts for the array of characters that will be making an appearance!
While I am thrilled about the cast, I share the wish for a greater number of female characters featured in the film. Nevertheless, the lineup remains impressive. Familiar faces like Chris Hemsworth and Paul Rudd are set to return, and it’s exhilarating to witness newer characters stepping into the spotlight.
This film promises plenty of surprising comebacks within the Marvel Universe. Let’s delve into the characters that particularly excite me and explore the reasons behind my enthusiasm!
Bob (Lewis Pullman)

My excitement for Lewis Pullman’s portrayal of “Bob” stems from my admiration for his talent. He is expected to portray Sentry—real name Robert “Bob” Reynolds—but we’ll have to hold off on certainty until *Thunderbolts* is released. Regardless, it’s thrilling to see Pullman join the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
We know his character survives *Thunderbolts* (which is reassuring), and the trailer hints at some intrigue, showing him with bullet holes in his shirt, suggesting he might not be in immediate peril. Watching Pullman alongside the Avengers will surely be a sight to behold.
Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez)

There’s a reason I placed Lewis Pullman and Danny Ramirez side by side: both actors from *Top Gun: Maverick* are bringing their talents to *Doomsday*.I have a keen interest in Joaquin Torres, especially if it leads to his character taking on the mantle of the Falcon.
In *Captain America: Brave New World*, we saw him learn valuable lessons from Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) about heroism, laying fertile ground for his expected contribution to the Avengers as Sam steps into a leadership role.
Hank McCoy (Kelsey Grammer)

The recent conclusion of *The Marvels* introduced Hank McCoy (Kelsey Grammer) back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a nod to his character from *X-Men: The Animated Series*.This revival creates anticipation for expanded storylines, particularly regarding Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) and her connection to him.
It will be fascinating to see if the returning X-Men in *Doomsday* connect back to the animated series, as fans speculate about where these characters will fit into the current narrative.
Yelena (Florence Pugh)

As a huge fan of Yelena Belova, having cosplayed as her and sporting a related tattoo, I’m overjoyed to see her presence confirmed for the upcoming film. Her name popping up on the cast list revitalizes my hope for her continued survival post-*Thunderbolts*.
While I didn’t expect to see a chair labeled “Scarlett Johansson, ”it’s thrilling to see Yelena potentially stepping into the spotlight as the new face of the Black Widow mantle in the Marvel franchise.
Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal)

My excitement for Pedro Pascal’s role as Reed Richards is palpable. Known for his charm, Pascal brings a fresh take on the famed superhero. Given that the villain is being played by none other than Robert Downey Jr.as Victor Von Doom, the stakes are high in this battle!
There’s a bittersweet twist in watching two beloved characters clash, but that tension also adds to the excitement of what’s ahead.
Shuri (Letitia Wright)

Letitia Wright’s portrayal of Shuri last left audiences buzzing following *Wakanda Forever*.However, Shuri has yet to fully embrace her role as Black Panther in a grand Avengers storyline since *Endgame*.With *Doomsday*, we can anticipate her significant contributions!
The notion of uniting some of the smartest minds in the Marvel Universe, including the likes of Reed Richards and Shuri, has fans eager for potential collaborations that could change the game’s landscape.
Loki (Tom Hiddleston)

The last we saw Loki, he was quite literally holding the fabric of time together! The reveal of Tom Hiddleston’s name on the cast list raises numerous questions about how he will navigate the timelines moving forward.
Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing Loki showcase his growth and evolution, regardless of the twists that may arise.
Gambit (Channing Tatum)

As a passionate Gambit fan (I even have a tattoo in his honor), I was ecstatic to learn of Channing Tatum’s confirmed return to portray him in *Doomsday*.It feels like a long time coming!
This news is crucial as fans are eager to see more of the X-Men respawned onto the screen, offering Tatum a prime opportunity to present Gambit in a more central role, especially after the lighthearted cameo in *Deadpool & Wolverine*.
Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan)

Is there ever a scenario where Bucky Barnes wouldn’t be a welcome sight? Absolutely not! Sebastian Stan’s return to the MCU for *Doomsday* brings promise for his character’s development, particularly since he seems poised for more interaction this time around.
With Bucky’s ties to government operations established in *Brave New World*, it leaves a tantalizing question of how these elements will play into the overarching story of *Doomsday*.
Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby)

The dynamics between Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) and Victor are rich in comic history. While the specific direction the MCU will take remains uncertain, with Reed and Sue already established as a couple in *The Fantastic Four: First Steps*, I look forward to their collective journey within *Doomsday*.
