Tips to Effortlessly Increase Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Scouts serve as essential agents within the gameplay narrative, representing the extensive network of spies and informants that Naoe and Yasuke employ to combat the enigmatic and sinister Shinbakufu. These characters not only enhance the story but also play a pivotal role in the strategic expansion of your hideout.

As you navigate through missions and develop your base, effective management of Scouts becomes crucial, as their availability can quickly dwindle. Below are some strategies to optimize your use of Scouts, expand your ranks, and replenish their numbers effectively.

Functionality of Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Scouts have two primary functions within the game:

  • Identify and mark essential hideout resources—such as crops, wood, and minerals—located in enemy territories, enabling you to collect them at the end of each season.
  • Reduce the search area for quest markers based on the information provided to you.

To maximize your building materials, prioritize using Scouts for resource smuggling. However, it’s important to manage their usage wisely, as marking a resource cache requires two Scouts, which may leave you short when you’re trying to locate quest markers.

Strategies for Refilling Scouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

There are three straightforward methods to replenish your Scouts:

  • Allow natural season changes to occur, or expedite the process by selecting the respective option in the map menu.
  • Pay 200 mon per Scout at a Kakurega, whether in the field or at your primary hideout.
  • Rescue civilians from marauders or provide assistance to the needy when they solicit support.

Scouts automatically renew when the in-game season transforms. Each season unfolds over approximately one hour of gameplay. As a change approaches, you can access the map and press the right d-pad or utilize fast travel to trigger the refresh.

If you’d rather not wait, an efficient option to refuel your Scouts exists that may be easily overlooked.Visit one of the Kakurega, which serve as fast-travel points throughout Japan. There is also a Kakurega located at your main hideout, established early in the game.

Inside the Kakurega, look for brightly colored bundles on the wall.Interact with this station to spend 200 mon and replenish one charge of your Scouts. This method is straightforward and can provide critical assistance when you find yourself in need.

While this option may become costly over time, it’s invaluable in moments where one extra charge could make a significant difference. Additionally, when you witness a civilian in distress or hear complaints about misfortune, intervene—either by combating their aggressors or providing monetary assistance.

As a token of gratitude, the civilian will offer you the choice between “world rumor”or “scout intel”.Opting for the latter will instantly restore one usage of your Scouts, allowing for enhanced resource collection or quest exploration. However, given that the other two options are efficient and low-cost, the “world rumor”choice is highly recommended as it leads you to quests, legendary chests, and other significant locations that you might otherwise overlook, offering far greater value than the mon you would save at the Kakurega.

Expanding Your Scout Roster in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To increase the number of Scouts at your disposal, you must focus on building and upgrading the “Study” room in your hideout. This facility is vital for managing the League’s daily operations and serves as a repository for the intel gathered by your allies.

Upon constructing the Study, you will gain access to an additional Scout, enhancing your operational capabilities.

To upgrade the Study, open the construction menu within your hideout, select the building, and follow the prompts to access the “Upgrade”option. The first upgrade requires 350 crops, 260 wood, and 90 minerals, granting you another Scout. The final upgrade demands an investment of 810 crops, 610 wood, and 200 minerals for one additional Scout.
