TikTok User Analyzes Justin Bieber’s ‘Yummy’ Music Video, Compares It to Diddy Party Vibe

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber’s 2020 track Yummy has recently been in the spotlight following Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest and federal indictment. On September 23, TikToker Alexia Mae, known as @alexismae.xo, examined the Yummy music video, alleging it contains hidden messages.

She suggested that the visuals in the music video serve as a “warning” regarding Diddy, providing an in-depth analysis that claims it reflects Sean Combs’ notorious parties, along with associated s*x or drug-related activities reportedly happening at those events.

“He’s been really screaming this for such a long time,” Alexis Mae remarked, asserting that Bieber has been addressing Diddy’s alleged nefarious activities through his music for years.

In her analysis, the TikToker highlighted specific moments from the video, such as a cherry changing from red to black, interpreting this as a sign of the loss of sexual innocence.

Diving Deeper into the Viral TikTok Analysis of Justin Bieber’s Yummy Music Video

On Monday, TikTok influencer Alexis Mae provided a comprehensive review of Bieber’s four-year-old music video for his popular song Yummy, which is from the studio album Changes. She argued that the MV was crafted not merely for entertainment but as a cautionary tale aimed at Sean Combs.

The music video opens with the superstar appearing at a party, dressed in a pink hoodie and sporting pink hair, navigating through the kitchen towards tables occupied by older, affluent guests. A young female violinist dressed in red stands on stage during the festivities.

According to Alexis’ analysis, at the conclusion of the video, the same red sparkly cloth is seen draped over one of the chairs, suggesting that the violinist might no longer be dressed, implying nudity.

She urged viewers to recognize that aside from Justin Bieber and his band, including the young violinist, the other party attendees appeared significantly older.

Additionally, the TikToker remarked on the arrival of more food items, such as raw fish, green Jell-O, peas, and shrimp, from the kitchen.

At this point, Justin Bieber stopped eating, and his sandwich plate visibly shifted position on the table, revealing its contents. Alexis noted that the cherry’s color changed from red to black, symbolizing decay or rottenness.

Furthermore, she suggested that the accompanying items like green olives and pickles resembled a human face with a protruding tongue, adding an explicit connotation.

Many of Alexis Mae’s followers resonated with her interpretations, contributing their insights, with most suggesting that the cherry’s color transformation implied a loss of innocence for the young woman featured in the video and potentially served as a covert message about Diddy’s actions towards the younger generation “behind closed doors.”

In another part of the 2-minute and 43-second TikTok review, it was noted that towards the video’s end, Justin Bieber appeared to re-engage with the rhythm as the lights dimmed and female backup dancers joined him. Alexis Mae theorized that those dressed in white throughout the MV might reference Diddy’s infamous “white parties.”

Additionally, the TikTok influencer expressed her belief that one of the background waiters resembled record executive L.A. Reid, who is often recognized alongside Diddy for having played a significant role in Bieber’s career launch.

It’s noteworthy that L.A. Reid has faced allegations of s*xual assault twice; first in May 2017 from a female assistant, and again in November 2023 in a lawsuit filed by ex-associate Drew Dixon.

The Yummy music video concludes with an empty plate placed before Bieber, showcasing only a boyhood photograph and the word “Yummy” inscribed on it. The TikTok influencer posited that this might imply Justin himself was a “yummy dish” presented at one of Diddy’s notoriously chaotic parties.

For those unfamiliar with his rise to fame, Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube at the age of 15 by former manager and record executive Scooter Braun, who subsequently introduced him to R&B legend Usher. This connection eventually led him to cross paths with Diddy, who provided mentorship in his early career.

In light of Diddy’s recent legal troubles, an older video from 2009 resurfaced in which the hip-hop mogul recounted spending “crazy” 48 hours with Justin Bieber, admitting he couldn’t elaborate on their activities but hinted it was “definitely a 15-year-old’s dream.”

Prior to the viral refocusing on the Yummy music video, a song purportedly titled Lost Myself At a Diddy Party had circulated online, allegedly featuring a younger Justin Bieber’s voice. However, it was later identified as an AI-generated and fake track, initially emerging on TikTok in April.
