Ticketmaster First to Support New Apple Wallet Features in iOS 18

In a recent blog post, Ticketmaster revealed that it will be the pioneering company to implement the upgraded Apple Wallet functionalities associated with iOS 18. This latest iteration of iOS has brought significant enhancements to the Apple Wallet app, aimed at providing users with a more enriched ticketing journey.

The redesigned Apple Wallet, now part of iOS 18, boasts an array of new features. Users can access comprehensive details regarding their booked events, including venue maps to help navigate to the right locations, real-time weather updates, and tailored playlists from Apple Music to enhance their event experience.

According to Ticketmaster, “the latest tickets will leverage Apple Wallet’s superior ticketing capabilities, showcasing unique designs tailored for each event, thus drawing fans into the gameday atmosphere even before they arrive.”

The inaugural event to benefit from these advanced Apple Wallet features will be the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) game on October 19th at BMO Stadium. Attendees can easily add their tickets to the Apple Wallet app on their iPhones equipped with iOS 18, which also includes “Ticketmaster Ignite,”ensuring an efficient multi-channel link between venues, teams, and supporters.

The blog further notes that the Miami Heat is slated to be the next team to showcase this innovative ticketing experience; however, the timeline for this rollout remains undisclosed. Nevertheless, Ticketmaster has stated that this enhanced experience will be available to a broader audience by 2025.

Besides these improvements, Apple Wallet introduces several other valuable features. A notable enhancement is the new Tap to Cash functionality, which allows users to swiftly transfer funds between two iPhones by simply holding them close. Furthermore, with the iOS 18 upgrade, users can verify Apple Pay transactions on Windows PCs via their iPhones.

To fully embrace the revamped Apple Wallet experience, you’ll need a device compatible with iOS 18, specifically an iPhone XR or a more recent model, as certain features will require the latest hardware.
