“This is Not Amusing” – Internet Users Respond to 50 Cent’s “Diddy Oil” Meme Targeting the Music Mogul
Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, recently shared a meme that pokes fun at fellow rapper Sean Combs, commonly referred to as Diddy, following his recent arrest. On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, 50 Cent took to his X account to post an AI-generated image of a bottle labeled “Diddy Oil,”accompanied by the caption:
“Coming soon! LOL (grinning squinting face emoji).”
This image alludes to the federal raids conducted on Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami, where authorities confiscated over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant. These raids are part of a broader investigation into s*x trafficking against Combs, initiated after accusations from his ex, Cassie Ventura, along with several others who have sued him for r*pe and abuse.
The meme quickly went viral, drawing varied reactions across the internet. One critic called out 50 Cent, stating:
“This is far from funny btw. Ppl were killed and r*ped.”
Many users on X criticized the Candy Shop hitmaker for trivializing a serious matter. Here are some notable comments:
“Only people who find humor in what Diddy did are those who have SA accusations hanging, GBV accusations, or those who fail to understand consent. R*pe and human trafficking can never be a joke,”wrote one user.
“Trash recognizes trash. The fact that you are using this as a moment to clown without posting something for the people who were harmed due to that monster’s actions says a lot more,”@theboywhothrive added.
“Idk why ppl keep making fun of the situation, it’s a scary *ss situation,”an internet user remarked.
Some comments pointed out how 50 Cent never misses an opportunity to mock his rival.
“The level of gleeful hate 50 Cent has for Puffy is hilarious,”another user commented.
“I admire his commitment and consistency in terrorizing his enemies. I aspire to be like him,”@aluu_raa joked.
“Maybe act your age and stop fooling online?”an exasperated fan wrote.
Diddy Pleaded Not Guilty to Charges of Racketeering, S*x Trafficking, and Transportation for Prostitution
The meme wasn’t the only content 50 Cent shared regarding Diddy. A day after Combs’ arrest, 50 Cent posted on Instagram a picture of himself with Drew Barrymore from her talk show, captioning it:
“Here I am keeping good company with @thedrewbarrymoreshow and I don’t have 1,000 bottles of lube at the house. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”
On September 16, 2024, federal agents apprehended Sean Combs in New York City, levying charges of racketeering, s*x trafficking, and transportation for prostitution. The 54-year-old music mogul has pleaded not guilty to all allegations.
The unsealed indictment alleges that Diddy operated a “criminal enterprise”that manipulated, threatened, and coerced women to engage in documented s*xual acts at his so-called “freak off”parties, drugging them to ensure compliance.
The rapper’s legal troubles began last November when his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him for s*xual and physical abuse. Although her lawsuit was settled in a single day, numerous other individuals subsequently emerged with their own lawsuits.
At that time, Diddy denied all allegations against him. Nevertheless, federal authorities launched a probe into the rapper’s activities.
In May, CNN publicized CCTV footage from 2016, depicting Combs in a hotel lobby kicking and dragging Cassie, which verified claims made in Ventura’s lawsuit. The rapper later posted an apology video on social media, which has since been removed.
50 Cent has consistently commented on the developments and accusations surrounding Diddy on his social media platforms. After the release of the CCTV footage in May, he reposted it (on May 17) with the remark:
“Now I’m sure Puffy didn’t do it; he is innocent; this proves nothing! This is what his lawyers are gonna say, God help us all.”
Diddy’s attorney has downplayed the nature of the “freak off”parties, informing TMZ on September 25 that they were merely thr*esomes. Additionally, 50 Cent is currently serving as the executive producer for a Netflix docuseries that explores the allegations against Sean Combs.
