This $3 App Does A Better Job Than The iPhone 15 Pro To Record High Quality Spatial Videos

Apple has recently introduced the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, which come with significant design changes and enhanced camera capabilities. The most notable upgrade on the iPhone 15 Pro is its ability to capture Spatial Videos for the Vision Pro. This feature is currently only available on the ‘Pro’ models, as the standard models do not have this capability at present. Nevertheless, Apple has announced plans to make this feature available on the standard iPhone models later this year. Additionally, a new app priced at $3 has been developed to provide a similar function for recording Spatial Videos on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Experience Next-Level Video Quality with Spatialify on the iPhone 15 Pro

According to UploadVR, the recently launched Spatialify app is available for download on the App Store for a reasonable price of $3. This app surpasses the capabilities of the camera app on the iPhone 15 Pro, as it is able to capture Spatial Videos in HDR at a resolution of 1080p and a frame rate of 60 fps or 4K at 30 fps. In comparison, the iPhone’s camera app can only record at 1080p and 30 fps.

It is important to note that prior to the launch of the Vision Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro did not have the capability to record Spatial Video. Subsequently, iOS 17.2 was made available to the public, but support for this feature was only added to the ‘Pro’ version of the iPhone 15. Therefore, if you do not own a Vision Pro, the app is not worth purchasing as the depth of the video cannot be fully appreciated on the iPhone screen.

If you’re considering trying out the new app, keep in mind that the Spatial Video feature will require a significant amount of storage on your iPhone. To put it into perspective, the iPhone 15 Pro captures Spatial Video at 1080p and 30 frames per second, which translates to 130MB per minute. This indicates that opting for higher resolution and frame rates could result in a substantial usage of your iPhone’s storage. It’s advisable to invest in a reliable portable SSD that can be connected to your iPhone via USB-C.

As previously stated, the cost of the Spatialify app is $3 and it is available for download on the App Store on both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Have you had a chance to try out the app yet, and do you believe Apple will include these enhancements in the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro release?
