Quick Navigation

The Blade from the Bits stands out as an exceptional steel sword available early in your journey through The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While many weapons can be discovered through exploration, others are rewards for completing quests or aiding characters in need.

Equipping a powerful sword is crucial in The Witcher 3, as it enhances your damage output and allows you to showcase your preferred aesthetic during battles with its unique design and compatibility with dyed armor. Below, we outline the steps necessary to acquire the Blade from the Bits, providing Geralt with a significant advantage in combat.

How to Acquire the Blade from the Bits in The Witcher 3

Combat in The Witcher 3

Your quest begins by initiating the mission titled “Of Swords and Dumplings.” To start, visit Eibhear Hattori’s blacksmith shop located in Novigrad. Hattori will express his troubles regarding a fee he must pay to the King of Beggars. Following a conversation, accompany him to a meeting with the King of Beggars’ associates.

During this meeting, assertiveness is key, as Tinboy—a representative of the King—will demand a 50% cut of Hattori’s earnings. By negotiating effectively, you can reduce this to 25% along with a discount, significantly aiding Hattori. However, this negotiation will be followed by an ambush by Cleaver’s bandits. It is recommended to prepare through potions and the Quen sign before engaging in this challenging fight.

Fighting with Sukrus

After successfully defeating the bandits, Hattori will retreat to his shop and request that you find him a bodyguard. Follow the map to locate Sukrus, a formidable character from Skellige who will only agree to speak with you after a fistfight.

Sukrus Challenge

Once you’ve triumphed over Sukrus, share a drink with him at a local tavern where he will mention an ongoing issue with some mead merchants. Proceed to the docks to confront the merchant onboard the specified boat. If your Axii skill is sufficiently high, negotiation is an option; otherwise, be prepared for a skirmish against him and his thugs.

Merchant Encounter

After overcoming this challenge, return to Sukrus with the good news. Subsequently, head back to Hattori, who will inform you that he requires supplies. Your next destination is Ernst van Hoorn’s warehouse to gather these supplies.

Entrance to the Warehouse

Upon arriving at the warehouse, you’ll encounter Yarpen, a dwarf who recognizes Geralt. He will grant entry if you either provide him with 200 Crowns or demonstrate Axii Level 3 proficiency. Inside, utilize your Witcher Senses to locate the correct crates and then exit. Once outside, confront and eliminate Ernst van Hoorn’s bandits. Once victorious, return to Hattori to claim your reward—the Blade from the Bits.
