Highlights of Ava Manning’s Grand Finale Performances on The Voice UK
The final four contestants kicked off the grand finale with solo acts, followed by collaborative performances with their respective coaches. There was considerable anticipation for Ava’s initial piece, particularly due to the last-minute switch to The Long And Winding Road by The Beatles, which occurred just 48 hours prior to the finale.
Upon completing her performance, will.i.am praised it as “spectacular,”while Sir Tom Jones shared a personal connection, mentioning that Sir Paul McCartney had originally written the song for him, but they had missed the opportunity to record it. He remarked:
“I’ve always loved that song, and every time I hear anybody do it, I think, ‘My God, I should have recorded that song’. You did a wonderful job with that song.”
Her coach, Tom Fletcher, expressed his emotional response to her performance, indicating that it brought him to tears, and Danny Jones highlighted the heartfelt dedication Ava showed in her execution. For her duet performance, Ava delivered an emotional version of The Reason by Hoobastank, performing alongside her mentors, earning commendation for both her acts.
As the announcement of her victory echoed through the venue, her coaches, Tom and Danny, rushed to the stage to congratulate her. Responding to host Emma Willis‘ inquiry about her feelings, Ava expressed:
“Speechless, like I am every time. I’m probably a bit more speechless this time, but forever grateful.”
Turning towards her fellow finalists on stage, she added:
“And these lot, they’re amazing, so I feel really honoured.”
Ava’s Path to the Grand Finale of The Voice UK Season 13
The pivotal Blind Auditions episode of Season 13 was particularly significant, as it determined 3 out of the 4 finalists of the competition. During this episode, Ava joined Tom and Danny’s team alongside Deb Orah and Storry, both of whom also made impressive choices for their teams. Each of these singers received a four-chair turn, presenting them with great options.
Ava showcased her talent by performing Damn Your Eyes by Etta James. Viewers later saw her again in the Callbacks segment, where a celebrity mentor aided the participants. Tom and Danny’s team was guided by Perrie Edwards, and during this phase, Ava performed Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.
During the Callbacks, only three contestants could remain on each team, leading to the elimination of the others. Olivia Rogers and Kyra Smith joined Ava on Tom and Danny’s team but faced elimination in the semi-finals, following Ava’s stirring rendition of God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.
The outcome of The Voice UK was ultimately decided based on the public votes each artist accumulated. Ava received the highest votes, earning her the distinguished title.
