The Voice Season 26 Episode 2 Recap: Snoop Dogg Utilizes Coach Replay Button, Reba McEntire Gets Blocked

The Voice season 26 is in full swing with the exciting blind auditions, featuring new judges Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg, alongside returning coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani. Hosted by Carson Daly, this captivating season showcases the audition process and how each coach strategically builds their team to compete.

After the auditions, the judges evaluate whether the artist advances to the next round. This season introduces a coach replay button, as well as the ability to block fellow mentors from selecting artists.

The coach replay button allows each judge to press the buzzer after meeting an artist. If they believe the contestant deserves a chance to compete, they can activate the buzzer to include them in the competition.

In The Voice season 26 episode 2, titled The Blind Auditions Part 2, released exclusively on NBC on September 30, 2024, one notable moment involved Reba being blocked by Michael. Snoop Dogg had a change of heart and decided to use his replay button to advance Gail Bliss to the next round.

“Coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani all vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon on the second night of blind auditions.”

The Voice season 26 episode 2 – Snoop Dogg Enthralls Dreion to Join His Team

A standout audition in The Voice season 26 episode 2 was performed by 27-year-old Dreion from Omaha, Nebraska. He wowed the judges by covering “Shining Star”by Earth, Wind & Fire, showcasing not only his impressive vocal skills but also his energetic stage presence, earning him a four-chair turn.

Snoop Dogg aimed to persuade Dreion to join his team, while Reba noted the unexpected and “entertaining”nature of the performance. Dreion ultimately chose Snoop as his mentor for the competition.

In another moment, Reba got blocked by Michael after 20-year-old Mor Ilderton sang “Coal”by Dylan Gossett, demonstrating his emotional authenticity. Despite his limited singing experience, he captured the judges’ attention with his vocal range, leading to Michael and Snoop’s admiration. Since Reba had already been blocked, Mor decided to join Team Bublé to refine his skills and discover his unique style.

Another highlight of the episode was 61-year-old Gail Bliss, whose unique voice and confidence struck a chord with the audience. Initially, she didn’t receive any chair turns, but after the judges met her, Snoop recognized the talent he almost let slip away and decided to press the replay button.

The episode concluded with 34-year-old Austyn Stancil performing “Ooo Baby Baby”by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, also earning a four-chair turn. Austyn opted for Team Gwen to guide him through his musical journey.
