The Voice Fans Excitedly React to Rowdy Shea’s Stunning Blind Auditions Performance

Season 26 of The Voice premiered its latest episode, “The Blind Auditions, Part 2,”on Monday, September 30, 2024. Coaches Gwen Stefani, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé returned to the stage for a new round of auditions, eager to discover the next musical talent.

In this episode, singers from diverse backgrounds showcased their talents, aiming to impress the coaches. Some performers managed to wow the panel, earning all four chairs to turn, while others struggled to leave an impression. The contestants offered a rich variety of musical genres, including country, pop, and more.

One standout country artist captivated the audience, leading to a fierce competition between coaches for his talents. Rowdy Shea wowed the crowd with his rendition of Toby Keith’s You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This, prompting both Gwen Stefani and Michael Bublé to hit their buttons. After much discussion, Rowdy ultimately chose to join Team Gwen.

The Voice fans quickly took to social media, expressing their admiration for Rowdy Shea’s performance.

Meanwhile, many fans were thrilled that Rowdy decided to be mentored by Gwen on The Voice, with one celebrating him as the “next big country star.”

Rowdy Shea from The Voice Invites His Wife to Choose His Coach

Before his audition, Rowdy introduced himself by sharing that he worked on a ranch that spans 85,000 acres, taking care of 500 horses. He began singing at the age of 20 while working on the ranch.

“Growing up, I aspired to be a horse trainer, but spending so much time alone on the ranch led me to discover my love for music,”he explained.

After participating in rodeos, Rowdy decided it was finally time to audition for The Voice. For his Blind Auditions performance, he selected Toby Keith’s You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This from the 1999 album How Do You Like Me Now?!

Just moments into his performance, Gwen pressed her button, eager to scout Rowdy for her team. Shortly after, Michael also turned his chair, but he was the only other coach to do so besides Gwen. Although Reba McEntire refrained from hitting her button, she expressed interest in potentially stealing Rowdy in the coming rounds of The Voice.

Gwen was relieved that Reba did not turn her chair and expressed:

“I’m so grateful that Reba didn’t push. You can feel a bit defeated even before you really go for a fight for someone who’s country, rightfully, because she is the queen.”

With this in mind, Gwen began her campaign to secure Rowdy for her team, declaring him to be the “perfect cowboy”she has been searching for. She continued to compliment his warm and smooth voice, along with his “adorable stage presence.”

Meanwhile, Michael inquired if Rowdy was interested in exploring genres outside of country music, to which Rowdy responded that he preferred to “stay in the country realm,”although he was open to various styles as country music evolves over time.

Finally, Rowdy introduced his wife, Jaci, who had married him just a week prior to the audition, to make the decision between the two coaches. Jaci ultimately chose Team Gwen.

“Rowdy is a genuine, authentic country singer. His sound is believable, and he is exactly what I was looking for,”Gwen stated.

The Voice airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8 PM ET on NBC.
