Over the years, the series has featured a diverse lineup of award-winning coaches, including Grammy and Oscar recipients, who have contributed to its success. The rivalry among coaches as they vie for the best singers enhances the viewing experience for fans.

While the competitive atmosphere adds excitement, the fundamental aim of the show is to provide young artists with the chance to learn from industry professionals. Stars spanning various genres—from pop sensation Ariana Grande to country icon Reba McEntire—have graced The Voice stage on NBC.

Below is a compilation of all the coaches who have taken on the challenge of filling the iconic red chairs over the 26 seasons.

22 Coaches Featured on The Voice from Seasons 1 to 26

1) Blake Shelton (Seasons 1-23)

Country superstar Blake Shelton holds the title of the longest-serving coach on The Voice. He made his debut in 2011 and continued through 2023 across seasons 1 to 23. Notably, he also holds the record for the most victories, with nine of his contestants winning the competition.

His initial win was in season 2 with Jeremain Paul. He notched additional victories in seasons 3 and 4, but faced a setback in season 5 when another coach triumphed. Shelton claimed further wins in seasons 7, 11, 13, 18, 20, and 22.

2) Adam Levine (Seasons 1-16 & 27)

Founding coach Adam Levine, known for his role in Maroon 5, was a fixture on the show for its first 16 seasons before stepping down in 2019. He boasts three championship titles: season 1 with Javier Colon, season 5 with Tessanne Chin, and season 9 with Jordan Smith.

In June 2024, NBC revealed that he would return to the coaching roster for season 27.

3) Christina Aguilera (Seasons 1-3, 5, 8, 10)

Five-time Grammy Award winner Christina Aguilera joined The Voice in its inaugural season and was the first female coach to guide a contestant to victory when Alison Porter won in season 10.

She also made a guest appearance as Team Gwen’s Battle Advisor in season 7.

4) CeeLo Green (Seasons 1-3, 5)

CeeLo Green was one of the original coaches on The Voice but departed after season 5. He returned for various advisory roles, including as Battle Advisor for Team Shakira in season 4 and Top 8 Advisor for Team Blake in season 8.

5) Shakira (Seasons 4 & 6)

Shakira joined The Voice in 2013, stepping in for CeeLo Green, and later returned for season 6 after his permanent departure.

6) Usher (Seasons 4 & 6)

Usher’s time on the show may have been brief, but he made a significant impact as he holds the record for the most contestants stolen during the Battle Rounds. Notably, Blake and Adam each took three singers from his team in season 6, while Usher himself stole Josh Kaufman from Adam, ultimately winning the season.

He later returned in various advisory roles including Team Adam’s Top 8 Advisor.

7) Gwen Stefani (Seasons 7,9,12,17,19,22,24,26)

Currently a coach in season 26, Gwen Stefani previously claimed victory in season 19 with contestant Carter Rubin. She has also served as a Battle Advisor for Team Blake and Team Pharrell’s Top 8 Advisor.

8) Pharrell Williams (Seasons 7-10)

Renowned musician Pharrell began his coaching journey in season 7, concluding his time after season 10. He secured his first win in season 8 with singer Sawyer Fredericks, and previously appeared as an advisor in season 4.

9) Miley Cyrus (Seasons 11 & 13)

Known for hits like “Flowers,”Miley Cyrus made her coaching debut in season 11, earning the title of the youngest coach ever to sit in the iconic red chair. She initially appeared as the Key Advisor in season 10.

10) Alicia Keys (Seasons 11-12 & 14)

Legendary R&B artist Alicia Keys first joined as an advisor to Team Pharrell in season 7, later becoming a coach from seasons 11 to 12 and again in season 14. Her singular victory was with Chris Blue in season 12, and she also made a special appearance in season 21’s finale.

11) Jennifer Hudson (Seasons 13 & 15)

EGOT recipient Jennifer Hudson previously won the UK version of The Voice and later joined the US iteration for two seasons.

12) Kelly Clarkson (Seasons 14-21 & 23)

American Idol’s inaugural winner Kelly Clarkson began her coaching role in season 14 and extended her presence through season 21. After a break, she returned for season 23. Clarkson has claimed four victories, with her first triumph in season 14 with Brynn Cartelli, followed by wins in seasons 15, 17, and 21 with Chevel Shepherd, Jake Hoot, and Girl Named Tom, respectively.

Another EGOT laureate, John Legend joined The Voice in season 16, winning his first title with Maelyn Jarmon. NBC confirmed his return for season 27 in June 2024.

14) Nick Jonas (Season 18 & 20)

Nick, from the Jonas Brothers, participated as a coach in seasons 18 and 20, following his debut as a Battle Advisor for Team Christina in season 8.

15) Ariana Grande (Season 21)

The “God is a Woman”artist took Nick Jonas’s spot in season 21, marking her sole season as a coach on the show.

16) Camila Cabello (Season 22)

Initially appearing as a Battle Advisor for Team Legend in season 21, Camila Cabello became a coach in season 22. John Legend acknowledged her coaching potential in an NBC Insider interview in 2022, encouraging her to take on that role.

Former One Direction member Niall Horan has coached across two seasons, recognized for his engaging rapport with Blake Shelton.

Grammy award-winning Chance the Rapper joined The Voice in season 23, returning for season 25 after a brief absence. He highlighted his dedication to supporting emerging talent in the industry.

19) Reba McEntire (Seasons 24-26)

Reba McEntire, the country music icon, made her debut in season 24. After winning with Asher HaVon in season 25, she continues her role in season 26 and served as the Mega Mentor in season 23.

20) Dan + Shay (Season 25)

The pop-country duo of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney collaborated as coaches in season 25 alongside Reba, Chance, and John Legend. Before chairing, they served as Team Blake’s Battle Advisors in season 20.

21) Michael Bublé (Seasons 26-27)

Grammy winner Michael Bublé is among the current coaches of season 26, alongside Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Gwen Stefani, and is confirmed to resume his coaching role for the next season. He also offered advice as Team Blake’s Battle Advisor in season 3.

22) Snoop Dogg (Season 26)

The iconic West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg is also part of the coaching lineup in season 26, delighting fans with his personality. He first joined The Voice as a Key Advisor in season 20.
