Having first been seen in The Simpsons season 9, episode 9, Jack was killed off in this season’s second episode. The creators made a conscious decision not to eliminate any major figures for narrative impact, while still delivering the shock factor through this character’s death.
The Simpsons Season 36 Episode 2 Addresses Doctor Hibbert and Bernice’s Relationship
This episode also provided clarity regarding the long-standing relationship between Doctor Julius Hibbert and his wife, Bernice, a character who has been a staple of the series for years.
Initially portrayed as a loving couple, their dynamic had become strained over time, frequently punctuated by exaggerated disputes stemming from Bernice’s issues with addiction and Julius’s inability to cope. However, during a hot-air balloon excursion in the latest episode, Julius confronts Bernice about her struggles, dramatically disposing of her drug paraphernalia.
In a heartfelt moment that had been absent for quite some time, Julius professes his love to Bernice, leaving fans with a renewed sense of hope for their relationship.
