‘The Running Man’ to Premiere at CinemaCon with Glen Powell Honored

Anticipation is mounting for Edgar Wright’s highly awaited film, The Running Man, slated for release in 2025. Any updates surrounding this project pique my interest deeply, especially as the film and its talented creators received recognition at this year’s CinemaCon.

According to a press release from CinemaCon, The Running Man will feature as part of the annual Creative Community Luncheon Panel in Las Vegas. This event will grant members of the press the opportunity to hear insights from the cast and creative team, including director Edgar Wright, and actors Colman Domingo, Glen Powell, and Josh Brolin.

Michael O’Leary, President and CEO of the National Association of Theatre Owners, expressed great enthusiasm in the official press release. He noted, “The excitement for The Running Man among the exhibition community is extremely high, and the luncheon presents an opportunity to hear thoughts and insights about the film and our industry from this incredible group of talented individuals.”

O’Leary also acknowledged the teams involved, specifically thanking Paramount Pictures and highlighting the recognition received by Glen Powell for his significant contributions. He emphasized the event’s value, saying, “Everyone’s generosity and collaboration is sure to make this luncheon a must-see event.”

The luncheon will be overseen by Jacqueline Coley, Editor at Rotten Tomatoes, and takes place on the final day of CinemaCon. During this event, Glen Powell will be awarded the prestigious Star of the Year title at the Big Screen Achievement Awards Celebration.

If Anyone Deserves It, It Is Powell

My excitement for this event is understandable, as Glen Powell had a remarkable year at the cinema, contributing significantly across three diverse genres. He kicked off the year with the romantic comedy Anyone But You, followed by his co-written indie film Hit Man, and concluded with a revival of the disaster genre in Twisters.

Interest in Powell surged, leading to trends like “Glen Powell Summer, ”solidifying his reputation as a phenomenal actor. Witnessing him receive accolades for his performances in three films I truly enjoy feels like the perfect culmination of his recent successes. I firmly believe he deserves an Oscar for his remarkable work on the adapted screenplay with Richard Linklater.

This recognition of Powell’s remarkable accomplishments and his meteoric rise is exhilarating for fans, particularly for those of us eager for The Running Man. He has an impressive lineup of upcoming projects, including A24’s Huntington and the Hulu series Chad Powers. However, the highlight will undoubtedly be his recognition as Star of the Year at the Big Screen Achievement Awards Celebration.

Rest assured, I will be sure to mention his impressive Patrick Bateman impression from Hit Man while attending CinemaCon. I’m fully committed to celebrating Glen Powell at this event and cannot wait to gain more insights on The Running Man!
