The Rock makes major WWE announcement ahead of RAW
WWE is nearing WrestleMania XL, with less than a week until the event. Dwayne “The Rock”Johnson has recently revealed a significant update, just before tonight’s final episode of RAW leading up to ‘Mania.
The Rock has revealed that his grandmother Lia Maivia will be honored with an induction into the Hall of Fame, Class of 2024. Additionally, The Great One will personally be conducting the induction.
Lia Maivia, who was married to Hall of Famer Peter Maivia, was a wrestling promoter for 26 years before her passing on October 19, 2008 at the age of 77.
The Rock shared a video on Instagram dedicated to his grandmother, praising her as a trailblazer, the protector of the family, and the ultimate Final Boss.
“I’m honored to announce, that I will be inducting my grandmother, Lia Maivia, into the @WWE Hall of Fame, class of 2024. One of the first ever female promoters of professional wrestling. She was a trail blazer. She was a protector of our family. She was the real Final Boss. @wwe @tkogrp #LiaMaivia #WWEHallOfFame #2024,”The Rock wrote.
The 2024 Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will include inductions for Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, Thunderbolt Patterson, The U.S. Express, and Muhammad Ali, is scheduled to air on Friday at 10 pm ET from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
