The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 Episode 12 Recap: Shannon Responds to Tamra and Heather’s Loan Accusations

The 12th episode of season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County was broadcast on October 10, 2024, at 9 PM ET on Bravo. Named “High Tea & High Tension,”this episode featured the cast enjoying a boat excursion, where Shannon surprised everyone with an announcement of a trip to England.

During the trip, Shannon confronted Tamra and Heather regarding their accusations about her integrity relating to a $75,000 loan from Alexis’ soon-to-be husband, John Jannsen. Alexis expressed her disappointment through tears for not being included in the England trip, sending Shannon a heartfelt text about her feelings.

At the Los Angeles airport, Heather praised Shannon as they prepared to celebrate her 60th birthday. Upon arriving at their hotel in London, tensions flared amongst the ladies. Shannon decided to shake things up by mixing cards into a bowl to randomly assign rooms, and she generously gifted each member $595 scarves.

After landing in London, Heather reminded everyone to keep up with their annual mammogram appointments back home. Shannon took the opportunity to reveal in the waiting area that she had sent an “un-invitation”to Alexis via text. In response, Alexis texted Shannon about the loan, asking for payment to her fiancé.

“Hi Shannon Beador. Since you’re hosting this wonderful trip to Europe with our friends, perhaps you can gather the funds to repay my future husband the $75,000 that you borrowed from him. Have safe travels,” was Alexis’ message.

To this, Shannon replied that financing the trip meant she would indeed “scrounge up the funds”to settle the debt with her future husband.

Jennifer joined in the discussion, mentioning how Shannon felt more at ease talking to her, while Shannon confessed she was struggling with the show affecting her personal life. Tamra jumped back into the fray, insisting that Shannon was not playing the victim, prompting Shannon to rise from the table in frustration, asserting she was working on herself.

Humor emerged later in the episode as Tamra laughed, visualizing Shannon “behind bars,”implying a jail-like situation. She expressed her intent to no longer be a pawn in Shannon’s games, as Gina took off to find Shannon.

As the episode wrapped up, Shannon revealed that Tamra was allegedly collaborating with Alexis to damage her reputation.

Earlier in the season, Shannon accused Alexis of involvement in a 2018 lawsuit directed toward both her and Tamra, a claim Alexis refuted. However, Shannon presented evidence, revealing a text message that stated:

“Everything you’ve and Tamra have claimed in the media is false. We’ve hired a lawyer and will be pursuing legal action against you and Tamra. Expect to hear from our lawyer soon.”
