The popular reality show Dancing With The Stars is currently airing its 33rd season, with two episodes already broadcasted. While the premiere episode featured no eliminations, the second episode, released on September 24, 2024, resulted in the elimination of two celebrities alongside their professional dance partners.
Anna Delvey and Tori Spelling were both sent home and subsequently appeared on the September 28 episode of Spelling’s misSPELLING podcast. They humorously reflected on their experiences on the show, being the first contestants to experience a double elimination.
“We are like the biggest losers Dancing With The Stars has ever seen. They thought the blondes have the most fun, and they were just not about it,”remarked Anna on the podcast.
Anna competed with dancer Ezra Sosa and amassed a total of 35 points over two weeks. Tori, partnered with dancer Pasha Pashkov, achieved a combined score of 36 points. Anna, known for her history as a convicted con artist, participated while wearing an ankle monitor, whereas Tori is a well-known actor who has been active in Hollywood since the early 1980s.
Anna Suggests Tori Should Have Stayed on Dancing With The Stars Season 33
Tori expressed disbelief at her elimination during the first elimination night. Anna concurred, saying she also did not anticipate Tori leaving so soon. She noted her own situation was understandable due to her controversial past and described her role on the show as the “wild card.”
Anna shared that she put forth her best effort and believed she had improved over her time on the show. However, she speculated that because of her public image, she may have struggled to connect with the older audience of the live show, suggesting her support base leaned younger, which likely contributed to her departure.
In October 2017, Anna was arrested in New York City and faced serious charges, including grand larceny in the first and second degrees, as well as theft of services.
She also expressed her thoughts on how Dancing With The Stars producers treated her, believing she was held to an unfair standard and expected to behave in a particular way to provoke a reaction from the audience.
“They were building me up, saying, ‘It’s like, only if you smile more, only if you do XYZ, it’s going to be so much better for you.’ And it felt like they put so much effort into getting me on the show, making me comfortable, just to eliminate me so early,”shared Anna.
Anna and Tori competed against other celebrities such as Danny Amendola, Joey Graziadei, Dwight Howard, Chandler Kinney, Ilona Maher, Brooks Nader, Stephen Nedoroscik, Phaedra Parks, Eric Roberts, Jenn Tran, and Reginald VelJohnson, all vying for the prestigious Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing With The Stars.
While discussing Tori, Anna shared her opinions on fellow competitors Eric Roberts and Reginald VelJohnson, asserting that both she and Tori were better dancers than Eric and Reginald. She added that while “it’s not that big of a deal,”it was somewhat embarrassing to be eliminated before them.
She also noted that while Reginald “is a great person and a cultural icon,”he might not be the best dancer. Anna speculated that those popular contestants, including Eric and Reginald, likely received votes due to their fame, remarking that she “signed up for a dancing competition, not a popularity contest.”
Dancing With The Stars Season 33 is hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. The next episode is set to air on October 7, 2024, on ABC and Disney+.
