The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 Finale Explained: What Happens to Neil Bishop?

All ten episodes of Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer were made available for streaming on Netflix simultaneously on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Much like its preceding seasons, this latest installment has received enthusiastic reviews from viewers, who were left both surprised and stunned by the unfolding events.

Fans speculate that the unexpected behavior of Bishop may stem from the profound guilt he carried after assisting De Marco with his nefarious activities. Additionally, there are theories suggesting that Bishop feared for his own safety after disclosing De Marco’s true character, leading him to take drastic action by shooting himself before his associates could retaliate.

In this season, Manny Garcia-Rulfo reprises his role as Mickey Haller, who represents Julian La Cosse in a high-profile murder trial concerning the death of Gloria Dayton, famously known as Glory Days.

Mickey firmly believed in Cosse’s innocence and called upon various crucial witnesses during the trial to establish her defense. Among them was former LAPD officer Neil Bishop, whom Mickey thought could significantly sway the jury’s decision.

Aware of DEA agent James de Marco’s connection to Gloria’s case, Mickey aimed to have Bishop testify against De Marco. However, persuading Bishop to come forward proved to be a challenging task.

Prior to Bishop’s testimony, Mickey had to present him with a video that showed both De Marco and Bishop involved in a scheme to frame one of the case’s pivotal witnesses by planting drugs in their residence.

Stunned by the footage, Bishop chose to testify against De Marco, exposing the lengthy relationship he had maintained with him. He confirmed his suspicions regarding De Marco’s role in Gloria’s demise, revealing that De Marco had requested information about her, and shortly after obtaining it, Gloria was found dead.

Bishop emotionally conveyed that he felt a heavy burden of guilt regarding her death. In a heartbreaking moment, he retrieved a gun hidden in his socks and took his own life, believing this would alleviate his persistent mental anguish and shield him from the consequences of his damning testimony.

Trouble Brews for Mickey as He Faces Accusations in the Season 3 Finale of The Lincoln Lawyer

A significant threat emerges for Mickey Haller as the conclusion of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 reveals that he is being implicated in the murder of his former client, Sam Scales.

Scales, who often found himself in perilous situations due to his criminal activities, was allegedly murdered by a foe at the end of the season. However, the suspicion for his death unexpectedly shifted onto Mickey, who had just celebrated a successful court defense at a party.

While driving back home from the festivities, Mickey was stopped by a police officer questioning him about a missing license plate. Upon further scrutiny, the officer noticed blood on Mickey’s vehicle and requested to search the trunk, where Mickey was horrified to uncover the body of his former client, Scales.
