The Legend of Vox Machina Season 3 Episode 4-6 Recap: What Led to the Cancellation of the Deal with Raishan?
The inaugural three episodes of season 3 of The Legend of Vox Machina set the stage for an unlikely alliance between the Vox Machina crew and Raishan, a notable member of the dragon collective known as the Chroma Conclave. Together, they forge a temporary alliance aimed at taking down the formidable Thordak.
On October 10, 2024, Amazon Prime Video unveiled episodes 4-6 of season 3. By the conclusion of episode 6, aptly titled “The Coming Storm,”Percy opts to sever the pact made with Raishan.
Upon their arrival in Whitestone during episode 6, the Vox Machina team is shocked to find that dragons have besieged the city—a feat that shouldn’t have been possible, given the city’s magical concealment. This turn of events signals that treachery is afoot, leading them to suspect a traitor among them.
Percy deduces that Anna Ripley is responsible for the betrayal. He is determined to confront her before shifting focus back to Thordak. Meanwhile, Raishan insists on redirecting their efforts to Emon for a confrontation. This disagreement leads to a split between Vox Machina and Raishan, marking a shift in alliances.
Season 3 Episodes 4-6 Recap: Raishan Becomes an Adversary Again
In episode 5, titled “The Frigid Wastes,”Vox Machina successfully defeats the dragon Vorugal. After the taxing battle, Allura requires some time to recuperate, prompting Scanlan to teleport the group to the vibrant nightclub, Chateau Shorthalt, where they unwind and enjoy themselves.
As episode 6 opens, the team is energized and ready to jump back into action. While Scanlan stays behind to reunite with his daughter, the rest of Vox Machina heads towards Whitestone.
Upon arrival, Vox Machina is taken aback by the destruction wrought upon Whitestone by the dragons. Despite their best efforts to intervene and combat the dragons, the situation has already spiraled out of control.
Considering the city’s supposed magical protection, the team is left wondering who could have betrayed them to assist the dragons. Raishan soon appears in this tense atmosphere, facing an uneasy Vox Machina.
Percy, fueled by a thirst for vengeance, believes that Ripley is the real traitor. He expresses a desire to settle the score with her first, while Raishan argues that they should focus on a fight in Emon before dealing with Ripley. When Percy refuses to budge from his plan, the partnership is effectively dissolved.
Before departing, Raishan ominously warns that their paths will cross again, but under hostile circumstances. Thus, the collaboration between Raishan and Vox Machina in season 3 is short-lived.
The Demise of Vorugal
During episode 5 of season 3, the formidable dragon Vorugal meets his demise at the hands of Vox Machina.
Emerging from hell through a portal after a skirmish, Vorugal confronts the party alongside another monster, emerging victorious. Weighing their options, Vox Machina debates whether to engage the dragon. In a bold move, Kima devises a plan, gaining Allura’s silent approval. She boldly moves in, dodging Vorugal’s icy attacks, and wounds him at the opportune moment.
Seizing the chance, the rest of the team launches a coordinated assault, ultimately bringing down another dragon from the Chroma Conclave.
Pike’s Adventure in Episode 4
Episode 4 begins with Vox Machina navigating through hell in search of a vital artifact. As they traverse this treacherous environment, they face numerous demons and monsters. Eventually, they encounter Zerxus, who proposes a game to Pike, the Everlight’s priest. Winning the game would secure the plate for Vox Machina, while losing would mean Pike remains behind.
Although Zerxus manages to outplay Pike in the first round, she quickly adapts her strategy in the second, cleverly using his own statements against him to secure victory. This result causes the plate to bond with her automatically.
Fans can look forward to episodes 7-9 of The Legend of Vox Machina season 3, set to premiere on October 17, 2024, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
