“The Genuine Ones Always Stand Out” — Fan Reactions to Garret’s Elimination on The Circle
Episodes 9 to 12 of The Circle Season 7 debuted on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, revealing intense drama as two contestants were eliminated. Darian was sent home in episode 9, followed by Garret in episode 11, both falling victim to the strategic gameplay of influencers Kevin and Gianna during the blockings.
Following Darian’s exit, Jadejha leaned on her “bestie”Garret for support. Their close relationship posed a significant threat to Kevin and Gianna’s plans. Recognizing Jadejha as a formidable competitor, the influencers made the decision to block Garret, thereby diminishing Jadejha’s chances in the competition by leaving her without allies.
Garret was ultimately blocked and eliminated in episode 11. While leaving, he encountered Rachel, aka Deb, where he voiced his frustration regarding the outcome. Fans of The Circle took to X to express their thoughts on Garret’s elimination. Many expressed sadness over Garret’s departure, while others criticized Kevin and Gianna for targeting a seemingly innocent player.
“Anyone watching The Circle and upset about Garret being blocked? I bawled naur I was rooting for him so much! He is such a softie and so sweet! It’s always the genuine ones,”a fan wrote.
“Awww Garret. That just hurt me. He didn’t deserve that,”another fan commented.
“Byeeee Garret poor Jadejha is losing all her people!!”a netizen tweeted.
Many fans praised Garret’s genuine gameplay and expressed discontent at his elimination.
“I feel bad for Garret because he was playing a genuine game and got kicked out for BS strategy…..”one user reacted.
“They keep on blocking the people with good hearts, good intentions and ones who aren’t afraid to ask the REAL questions mxm!”a person commented.
“Garret didn’t deserve what happened to him. He’s breaking my heart. Feeling isolated is such a hard thing. Blocking him made no freaking sense. But then what happened to Darian didn’t make sense. Or Andy. The people in this game better smarten up,”another fan wrote.
On the flip side, some fans criticized Kevin’s decision to block Garret.
“I hate that #Garret was blocked sooooo sad and I don’t understand why #Gianna don’t see #Kevin is keeping all his alliances and getting rid of hers “theirs.” I hope this next episode a change will come,”another user tweeted.
“How tf is Garret blocked on The Circle but Kevin and Madelyn are still there?”another person reacted.
“I’ve never seen anyone looking as sad as Garret after getting blocked. Genuinely feel so bad for him,”one netizen commented.
The Circle Star Garret Leaves an Emotional Message for Everyone
In episode 10, Garret received the lowest ratings from his fellow cast members, which fueled Kevin and Gianna’s desire to eliminate him. His exit left Jadejha in a vulnerable position. However, when Garret departed in episode 11, Jadejha recognized the influencers’ motivations, motivating her to intensify her gameplay.
“Now, I have no one that I actually trust in The Circle, so now everyone is on my hit list,”Jadejha declared.
The contestants watched Garret’s exit video message the morning following his elimination, revealing that he was not a catfish. He was indeed the “circus acrobat,”the “cat dad,”and the “crybaby”he claimed to be.
Garret shared his struggles with identity but expressed that being part of The Circle allowed him to feel comfortable in his own skin and proud of his journey. Although his time in the show ended, he appreciated the experience he shared with the cast members.
Garret explained his strategy was to “play to the middle,”avoiding the spotlight, but noted that this approach did not keep him in the game. He criticized the influencers for targeting those at the bottom of the ratings, posing the question:
“How am I, or anyone else at the bottom of the ratings, a threat to your game? What game are you playing?”Garret questioned.
Despite his elimination, he shared that he had no regrets and looked forward to reuniting with cast members at the finale.
The Circle Season 7 is available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
