The Galaxy A55 Is The First Samsung Phone To Support Seamless Updates

It seems that Samsung has finally incorporated Google’s renowned Seamless Update feature into its smartphones. Interestingly, the recently launched Galaxy A55 is the first phone to include this feature, despite the fact that none of Samsung’s flagship devices have it.

Samsung’s Galaxy A55 finally receives much-awaited Seamless Updates after six years

The Galaxy A55 now has Seamless Update, which provides users with two panels. One panel displays the download and installation progress, while the other verifies the update. This eliminates the need for a difficult update installation process. This update has been confirmed by multiple users, including Mishaal Rahman on Twitter.

In 2016, Seamless Updates was introduced as a different approach to updating devices. Unlike the traditional method, this feature eliminates the need to restart the device after completing the update. It functions by allowing the device to download and install the software in the background, utilizing a secondary system partition. Despite this, Samsung has not implemented this feature until now, with the Galaxy A55 being the first Samsung phone to do so.

The Galaxy A55’s inclusion of Seamless Updates is significant due to the various advantages it provides. One of the main benefits is enhanced protection for the backup partition, as the device has the ability to revert back in case of installation errors. While this may require more internal storage as the phone now manages two partitions, it is not a concern with the abundance of storage options available in modern smartphones.

Please take note that Seamless Updates was not initially available on the Galaxy A55, but was later added through a software update. This suggests that there is a chance that this feature may also be introduced to other Samsung devices. It would be logical for Samsung to expand this feature to other devices instead of limiting it to just one.
