“The disrespect is crazy” – Jamahal Hill blows a gasket after ESPN MMA rates UFC’s light heavyweight division a ‘D-‘
Jamahal Hill has recently expressed his frustration with ESPN MMA’s low rating of the UFC’s light heavyweight division.
Hill is preparing to face off against current 205-pound champion Alex Pereira with the goal of reclaiming his title. The highly anticipated UFC 300 pay-per-view event, set to take place on April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, will feature this headline bout.
In response to a recent internal ranking report compiled by ESPN MMA, ‘Sweet Dreams’ was evaluated. The ratings, curated by MMA journalist Brett Okamoto, provided an overview of the first quarter performance for each division in the UFC.
Upon discovering that the light heavyweight division had been given a ‘D-‘ grade, Hill expressed his frustration.
“The disrespect is crazy!!! Headlining UFC 300 main and preliminary [events] but LHW is the weak? They call us to save cards!!!”

According to information on ESPN MMA’s website, the rankings for the 11 divisions in the UFC were determined through a variety of factors such as the division’s level of excitement and projected interest over the next nine months.
Moreover, the rankings take into account the charm and attractiveness of the reigning champions, the existence of gripping rivalries, the level of skill among the different weight divisions, the rise of talented newcomers, and the caliber of matchmaking in regards to the upcoming fights.
Jamahal Hill calls out MMA community for perceived bias towards Alex Pereira before UFC 300 clash
Jamahal Hill recently expressed his strong disapproval of the MMA community, claiming that they are showing favoritism towards Alex Pereira in their upcoming showdown at UFC 300.
‘Poatan’ is a highly esteemed fighter among the current UFC roster. Despite only participating in seven matches in the MMA promotion, Pereira has gained a significant fan base despite not being proficient in English.
Despite Pereira’s significant fan following, it is clear that numerous fans are predicting his victory over ‘Sweet Dreams’ at UFC 300. Yet, Hill has noticed a difference between the level of support Pereira receives and the criteria used to evaluate him by the MMA community.
Hill shared a post on X:
“Alex: I’m going to beat Jamahal so easy/clean, I’ll fight another top contender another three weeks later. MMA Community: He’s a beast, I believe he can do it, dudes special, f**k love it! Me: I’m better than Alex. MMA Community: You’re too confident, you’re delusional, you’re unlikeable.”
