The Circle Season 7 Episode 9 Recap: Kevin’s Betrayal Forces Darian to Leave and More Insights

Netflix’s hit reality show, The Circle, debuted its highly anticipated seventh season on September 11, 2024. The streaming service rolled out four fresh episodes (9-12) on September 25, showcasing some unexpected twists and strategies as contestants endeavor to form alliances in pursuit of the grand prize of $100,000.

The Circle is expertly hosted by TV personality Michelle Buteau. In each season, 11 contestants enter the competition, choosing whether to compete as their true selves or adopt a persona that better suits their gameplay strategy. This season has introduced fans to an exciting twist dubbed the Disruptor Mode, which can be activated randomly, granting players either advantages or disadvantages in the game.

So far, two contestants have been eliminated, including Savannah Miller in episode 4 and Heather Richardson, who played as Andy in episode 7. The influencers, Gianna and Kevin, were previously seen deliberating over whom to block. Kevin expressed his intention to dismantle the connection between Darian and Jadejha, while Gianna opposed his plan.

What happened in The Circle Season 7 Episode 9?

Episode 9 resumed from the prior week’s cliffhanger, with Kevin and Gianna (played by twins Nicky and Jojo) struggling to agree on who to nominate for elimination. Kevin pitched the idea of forming a “#NewPowerDuo”to completely alter the game dynamics. Nicky and Jojo consented to this alliance under the condition that Kevin would take responsibility for the voting, a proposal he accepted.

The other players, as well as the audience, were informed of the new alliance’s decision just before bedtime. It was revealed that the player who had been blocked from The Circle was Darian, clarifying that it wasn’t Gianna’s choice.

Darian was then granted the chance to meet one player face-to-face and chose to visit Jadejha. During their conversation, Darian shared insights about trust issues, both of them growing skeptical of Gianna. However, the couple quickly shifted their focus away from the game and shared an intimate moment instead. Before Darian exited, he left a pointed message for the other players, criticizing Kevin for his betrayal.

The following day, when player chat resumed, Kevin attempted to defend his actions by claiming he had a “trusted source.”However, his stance failed to convince the majority, even as they acknowledged that this “source”was, in fact, Madelyn.

Madelyn soon initiated a private conversation with Garret to clear up any misunderstandings. Seizing the moment to keep her informed, Garret feigned agreement and informed her of his allegiance, aiming to retain control of their alliance.

The contestants participated in the challenge #TheCircleAMA, where they could pose anonymous questions to one another. Many aimed tough questions at their rivals, further unveiling Kevin’s name in a negative light. Eager to redeem himself, Kevin reached out to Tierra post-game, hoping to forge a new partnership.

Gianna also reached out to Jadejha, expressing concerns about whether Jadejha still trusted them after they blocked Darian, her romantic interest. After Gianna’s sincere apology, Jadejha acknowledged her decision and agreed to move forward, having developed “a personal connection”with Gianna.

As the episode drew to a close, the monitors in The Circle lit up, warning the players that the next morning they would need to rate each other—a process that could significantly impact their standing in the game.

Catch episodes 9-12 of The Circle Season 7 streaming now on Netflix, and stay tuned for the season finale on October 2.
