The Avengers Assemble Every Marvel Villain for an Unbeatable Mission That Justifies Their Recruitment

In an unprecedented move, the Avengers are enlisting notorious villains in their quest to combat a threat they can’t defeat alone. This dramatic alliance underscores the severity of their situation, signaling just how dire the circumstances have become for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes—who have struggled repeatedly against the new ruler of Earth.

The Rise of Doctor Doom

In the highly anticipated storyline One World Under Doom, Doctor Doom has successfully asserted complete control over the planet. His rise to power has been cemented by his elevation to Sorcerer Supreme, enabling him to not only dominate Earth but also to thwart the Avengers’ efforts to stop his tyranny. A recent announcement from Marvel sheds light on the upcoming release of One World Under Doom #3, where the Avengers aim to unite heroes and their usual foes to confront Emperor Doom.

The Avengers have faced Doom before. However, the urgency is greater than ever, as even those who bear a grudge against Doom find common ground with the heroes. United, they are determined to defeat him once and for all! Nevertheless, Doom’s calculating intellect is just one of many challenges as envious eyes turn toward Earth…

Villains Join Forces Against Doom

The cover art by R.B. Silva vividly illustrates this shocking alliance, showcasing characters like Captain America and Storm standing shoulder to shoulder with infamous villains such as Doctor Octopus, MODOK, Baron Mordo, Mysterio, and the sorceress Goblin Queen. Although these villains typically operate on the opposing side, they have a common motivation to overthrow a dictator who, despite his evil nature, is undertaking drastic measures toward what he claims is ‘saving the world.’ This puts him in direct conflict not only with heroes but also with those who have their own motives.

This issue features a huge fight – all the heroes (and villains!) versus Doom. It was a ton of fun to write, and even more fun to see drawn when R.B. Silva was done with it. And it doesn’t go the way you might think, and actually leads to an even BIGGER fight in the next issue! It’s got some Doom moments I’m super proud of. How could it not, when you’ve got characters like M.O.D.O.K. and Doctor Octopus trying to take down Doom for their own reasons?

The Strategic Landscape

Despite their newfound collaboration, defeating the ascended Doctor Doom remains a daunting task. In lengthy arcs like this, Marvel frequently surprises fans with unexpected shifts in villain dynamics. For instance, previous events like Age of Ultron and Devil’s Reign saw significant changes in major antagonists as the narratives unfolded. Given Doom’s cunning and near-omnipotent powers, the question lingers: Who among Marvel’s rogues gallery could potentially dethrone him?

Potential ‘New’ Threats

Kang the Conqueror emerges as a strong candidate, given his history of rivalry with Doom. Not only has Kang expressed admiration for Doom’s strategic mind, but he also recognizes the Latverian villain as a formidable opponent. This tension raises intriguing questions about their relationship and the broader implications for the future of the Marvel Universe.

As we await the arrival of One World Under Doom on comic book shelves, one thing is certain: the clash between the Avengers—and their villainous counterparts—against Doctor Doom will undoubtedly leave a powerful impact on the storyline.

One World Under Doom #3 will be available from Marvel Comics in April, promising to deliver unexpected twists and spectacular battles.
