In the aftermath of the unveiling of the Daredevil: Born Again poster, Andrew Garfield’s anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man 3 takes center stage, now imagining a crossover with Tom Hardy’s Venom in a style reminiscent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Since returning to the role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have eagerly hoped that Sony Pictures would revive Garfield’s character for a standalone sequel, originally planned after his 2014 film. However, as of now, there are no confirmed plans for another installment featuring Garfield as Peter Parker.
Even though The Amazing Spider-Man 3 seems unlikely at this point, fans are actively sharing their creative visions for what a sequel could entail, should it ever come to fruition. Artist Arifinity unveiled some intriguing fan art depicting Garfield’s Spider-Man facing off against Hardy’s Venom, inspired directly by the recent Daredevil: Born Again promotional material.
The new poster brilliantly captures the essence of the Marvel world, drawing parallels to the ensemble art featuring Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. While Cox did not share screen time with Garfield’s version of Spider-Man, he made a notable cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home as the attorney for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, hinting at the possibility of interconnected narratives within the Marvel multiverse.
The Significance of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 Art

Since Tom Hardy made his debut as Eddie Brock in the 2018 film Venom, fans have been vocal about wanting to see a clash between Hardy’s character and Garfield’s Spider-Man. While there has been no official word from Sony regarding a connection between the two franchises, many theorize that the tone and the ambiguous status of Spider-Man within Sony’s Spider-Man Universe might lend itself well to such a crossover.
The fan art for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 highlights the widespread enthusiasm for a potential confrontation between Garfield and Hardy’s characters. Moreover, it would have provided a natural narrative transition into the symbiote saga after the tragic events surrounding Gwen Stacy’s death in the earlier films. Given the way No Way Home positioned Garfield’s character for a possible continuation, it’s surprising that we have yet to hear any statements from Sony regarding the future of Garfield’s Spider-Man.
Our Perspective on The Amazing Spider-Man 3 Art

While the fate of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 remains uncertain, the newly released fan art accentuates the excitement for a potential showdown between Garfield and Hardy. Although Hardy’s tenure with Venom may seem to have come to a close following Venom: The Last Dance, there remains a strong possibility that Garfield’s Spider-Man could reemerge in future MCU projects. Regardless of whether it happens through The Amazing Spider-Man 3 or another storyline, fans are hopeful for Garfield’s return before the MCU’s Multiverse Saga concludes.
